Pros:

Found this little 9 hole course by accident. Beautiful short little city style park course. Ferry Road Park is located around 2 minutes away from Winsor Park. What's kind of cool about this course is that it could serve as the back nine of Winsor Park and you could easily hit up both courses in one stop. While Winsor is more of a wooded course, Ferry Road Park offers more open shots.

Great new Mach 7 baskets. The pictures don't show it but they somewhat recently installed concrete tee pads except for a few holes.

Ferry Road Park offers some unique lines and fun shots especially on hole 5. Good use of space within this pretty small park. Amazing views of Coos Bay and the Conde McCullough Memorial Bridge on hole 4 with a unique wooded line. Hole #3 finishes near these amazing tall trees and a peak of Coos bay, which goes to show the lovely location of this course.

Cons:

This course is small enough that you can very easily run into people walking through on the trails, more so in the summer. After all it is a neighborhood park and there are others using the playground, baseball field, etc.

Hole #9 plays far to close to the parking lot. There were a ton of cars in the parking lot on the day I went and for beginners this could easily be a hazard. To be safe I recommend parking on the other side of the parking lot farthest from hole #9.

Other Thoughts:

I would say this course takes the upper hand over Winsor Park. A nice bonus is that you don't get as much highway noise at Ferry Road Park, and it offers for a more pleasent round. If you need a pit stop after driving for a while this is a perfect little 9 hole course. I'm pretty impressed with how they maximized the space of this park to fit for a course.

Pros:

-Just around the corner from the well-established Winsor Park Disc Golf Course is Ferry Road Park. At first impression, it's nothing more than another city park: baseball field, play ground, walking paths, etc. But the location is incredible, on the northern tip of the North Bend peninsula. Hole #4, in particular, yields a fantastic view of Coos Bay and the McCullough Bridge.

-This course is longer and more open than the other two area courses, featuring three holes greater than 300 feet. The layout is balanced, requiring several shot shapes. Hole #4 (amazing view), #6 (a wide hyzer) and #7 (basket over a small stream) were notable.

-Baskets are the new Mach VII models -- the first time I've seen them, and I was impressed.

Cons:

-Safety concerns -- pedestrian paths are in play on several holes, and the parking lot is dangerously close to hole #9.

-Tees have been improved from what you can see in the photos. Strangely, two of the nine pads are still gravel/concrete yet to be poured as of July 2022.

-All of the baskets are set approximately 18 inches too high on a concrete/gravel mound.

Other Thoughts:

-This is a wonderful addition to the Coos Bay/North Bend disc golf scene. It's not a long course, but longer and more open than Mingus or Winsor Park. None of the three courses are destinations, but all excellent choices for a quick 30-45 minute stop if you're passing through on US-101.
