Pros:
First Baptist makes good use of the open hillside for long drives and accurate shorter shots in the woods. Holes offer a good variety of shots. Grass was recently mowed and the wooded fairways were clear. Baskets are in great condition and there are several direction signs on trees and baskets. A couple wooded holes have carpeted tee boxes.
Cons:
The first 4 holes feels like they are on top of each other. Hole 2's basket can be in 3's fairway and hole 1 and 4 share the same basket. Hole signage is minimal and it's difficult to find the tees for 2 and 3. Hole 10 cuts through two fairways.
Other Thoughts:
It's nice to have a course in New Phila and First Baptist is taking great care of it. Hole 10 is a lot like Arboretum-Spiker Park - White's hole 11; long bomb with wooded start to a wide-open downhill. The grass tees were okay when we were out but the wooded section was very muddy. Better (and more) tee signs and concrete tees will improve this course in the short term. Modifying hole 2 or 3 and getting 4 its own basket will help the flow of the course.
