Nicely wooded 9 holer 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 3, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course offers a good mix of short and moderate length holes. There are plenty of trees here to make for some good lines to hit, but not super thick that it would frustrate you.
This is a good course to help improve your accuracy on.
The course is well kept and you get a nice and secluded feel while playing here.
Rounds should play quickly and there are other amenities here like a pool and playground.
Hole 1-works a little L to R
Hole 2-dog leg R
Hole 3-slight uphill shot with a gap to hit
Hole 4-has heavy rough on the left and you throw over a fence
Hole 5-is open upon approach
Hole 6-low ceiling shot
Hole 7-has trees to navigate
Hole 8-short hole
Hole 9-dog leg left

Cons:

The markers are only wood posts with numbers on them with no distance.
There are no benches or trashcans here.
Playground and campground could come into play on holes 6 and 7 especially.
There are new discatchers on some holes and practice baskets on other holes. They all do their job but it just seems a little inconsistent.

Other Thoughts:

I had fun at this course and enjoyed my round. In the summertime I can see this course playing tougher due to the vegetation and trees being full of leaves. It appears that at one time some of the baskets were missing. If I had to make a guess they were all the practice Innova baskets and someone took those and they replaced them with the new discatchers. I just wished the baskets were all the same but it is what it is. If you are wanting a nice little 9 holer that will test your accuracy then hit this course up.

Nice layout and slightly challenging. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 28, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

I like the layout a lot! The setting kind of reminds me of Thomas Park in Salina, KS with less trees.
Quiet and not busy. 1-2 groups on the course is all I noticed.
Good use of trees and elevation change.
A good variety of shots for this course.
Grass is kept short.

Cons:

The only things I can really think of are signage. I heard by ear that Nelson had a course so I drove up and searched and searched....parked a mile away from the first tee and walked around for about half an hour before I figured out where to start.
Trash was getting bad the last time I played here and it seemed like all the trashcans in the park were by the tee pad of hole 7.

Other Thoughts:

#3; Don't get into the creek bed. A BUNCH of sting weed and it's tall in the summer months.
Fun little Ace run on hole #8
Baskets have been replaced by Innova Pro Discatchers except holes 6,7 and 8(Innova Discatcher Sport)

Needs work 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 20, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Some good elevation changes

Nice lay out

Nice shade, with some yet Wide open shots

Cons:

Short

Tee makers do not show a map of where the basket is, so you first time plan to walk some to find the baskets.

Hole 3 is playing over a trail. If you hook to far left you end up in some think over growth with Poison Oak and Stinging Nettles. Ended up looking for a disk and never did find it. Too far right and you end up in the trees. The best shot is over the gravel road.

Also the play ground, volley ball court and the camper parking all comes into play.

Other Thoughts:

Nice quiet park. No one else was around for the 2 rounds we played. I would say this is a good beginner to moderate player course.
