Course Design: I thoroughly enjoyed the amount of variety. The variety from each tee bad provided a lot of variation in the challenge level to each player. It would be easy for families or groups of mixed ability to play here and have a good time. Every hole was unique and nothing felt like it blended in or was forgettable.

Versatility: The versatility on this course is wonderful. There is a little bit of pretty much everything... tight wooded shots, open, distance shots, an island green, even a tunnel through an open barn. A decent amount of elevation on a few holes also highlights the variety. Plenty of OB to keep things challenging (tall grass acting as OB on the open holes makes them much more interesting). Three tees to one basket (at a time, but with multiple pin locations), so the three courses are set, but still provides plenty of variety for different levels.

Difficulty: The Red-White-Blue scheme of the tee pads felt more like Green-Red-White to me, and that is coming from a girl who has only been playing for about a year. That said, I really enjoyed being able to play from the white tees. Red tees remove the greatest parts of the challenge from each hole (removing tight tunnels, trees, etc). Blue tees were very challenging, and added either a fair amount of distance or obstacles. Nothing to sneeze at, there!

Signage/Navigation: We followed a map provided to us by the owner, which was easy enough to follow. I never felt lost as we explored the course. Property was beautiful and fun to experience.

Tees Pads/Baskets: Tee pads are natural, marked by wooden blocks or flags with the appropriate color of the tee pad. At the time I visited, it was after a heavy rainfall and the tees were quite muddy, so we were forced to step behind the tees in order to keep our footing. This might be one of the only flaws on this course.

Course Maintenance: This course is very well maintained. I don't think there were any tournaments happening at the time at which we played, and it still felt like it was ready for one. Grass was well mowed to indicate the fairways on open holes.

Overall impression: Very fun course on beautiful land. Certainly worth making a point to stop by if you are in town. Two very friendly dogs kept our spirits up as we walked from hole to hole. Closed gates should be closed behind you as you pass through.

This course is very well-maintained by the owner of the farm on which it is located. It has been well designed to make the most of the features of the land and property. It is a beautiful area.

There are such a wide variety of shots and holes, that there is no getting bored. It is a combination of open and wooded holes. The great thing with the open holes is that they have taken advantage of the space they have and made the holes on the longer side with a fair amount of OB. So you can't just mindlessly bomb it, you still have to be careful about placing your shots.

The wooded holes are great as well, with a great variety - some very tight, some with more room, some left bends, some right bends, shots out of the trees, shots into the trees, a shot through a horse stable/barn, elevation changes - you get the idea.

It's also nice that there aren't many opportunities to lose a disc. Most of the OB on the open holes is still well-maintained grass that's maybe only 5-6 inches high. The most common way I've seen people lose discs is getting them stuck in trees (which I've done), and even then the owner is nice and tries to get discs back to people when they eventually come down. I think the OB is reasonable and tastefully created. It's mowed cleanly and clearly, much like a ball golf course. I can't stand watching pro tournaments where they are basically playing in an open field and had to map out all of the holes with miles of rope.

Good quality baskets, practice putting basket near the parking area.

Owner is very nice. Asks that you leave gates as you found them, don't litter, and support with a donation or buying a tag/membership.

The three tees also provide a wide range of challenge. The short tees are quite friendly to beginners, and the long tees are very challenging, with advanced players still often shooting above par (I think the Advanced AM division at the first PDGA tourney here averaged somewhere around +4 or +5).

I don't personally mind it, but it has grass/natural tees, which others may not prefer.

Could use some hole signs (although I believe there are now course maps available at the parking area, which helps).

The cons I listed are something which will likely change, because this is a new course that the owner is still working to develop it. They are also beginning to host tournaments and leagues, which is great.

Overall, great course in a beautiful area that will likely only get better.

This course is perfectly mowed and maintained. Brand-new DISCatcher baskets on every hole. Three sets of tees. Solid natural teepads even after a big storm. Mix of open and woods holes. Cool signature holes (3 is a long uphill climb over a ridge to a basket protected by trees; 11 shoots *through* a barn from the white and blue pads; 18 is an island green). I don't usually care much for mandos, but the few here are well-used for safety purposes. Horse-related and outer course boundary OB is not onerous.

The owners are friendly and gracious, and only ask that you support the course with a donation and refrain from littering on their land.

Some tall grass OB in the field is probably unnecessary, although I understand the motive (keep you in your fairway, demand placement of shots).

Natural teepads are good but still natural.

No signage yet, although tees are marked with colored blocks.

Those last two aren't really criticisms, as this course is BRAND NEW and will just get better as it beats in and fundraising continues.

This will easily be a 4+ and rank as one of the best courses in Northern Virginia once it's completely finished and beat in.
