Just not enough to work with 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 15, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice grassy surface.
-Some trees and wires to produce lines
-Works as a quick stretch of the legs for road trips
-No other courses nearby
-Baskets in place and easy to follow

Cons:

-Sorry, but there is just not enough to work with here!
-No elevation or terrain features.
-No wind protection.

Other Thoughts:

S.W. Kansas travelers should know that this is a REALLY limited course. It is set on what amounts to a wide median strip over 4 residential blocks that are perfectly, end to end bland. Holes 3 through 8 are all about the same 250' throw with 1,2 a bit shorter and 9 a short par 4. Grap a putter a mid and a control driver and you could jog the whole course in 15 minutes.

An alternative: if you are heading east/west, hit this course only if it is right on your way. Hold out for 'May Dennis', a really nice and diverse 18 just over 2 hours east in Pratt.

Westward HO!!! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The grounds were well maintained and the grass is irrigated. New baskets and the signs give the hole # and distances.
Rounds will play quickly here.
The course uses the available trees and electrical poles to shape shots.
There is a good mix of short and moderate length holes. Some holes have ACE RUN potential. This is a good beginners course or a place where an advanced player would go to work on their midrange game.
Holes 5 and 7 have pine trees protecting the baskets and hole 9 will let you air out your favorite driver.

Cons:

There is not much tree coverage to block the strong SW KS winds. City streets are really close to the course so be aware before you throw.
A few holes use the electrical poles and guide wires for added obstacles. Some players won't like this, I thought it help keep me on my toes.
No trash cans or benches, not a huge deal but this option is always nice.

Other Thoughts:

This is a decent 9 hole course that uses a 4 block piece of land between 13th and 14th streets. The planting of some trees on holes 2-4 might help to provide some lines to be shaped and help provide for a few more obstacles. The city used the land that was available as best they could IMO.
Not a must play but if you are traveling through SW KS then it provides disc golfers with another option.
