Pros:

-Good elevation changes
-mix of long and short holes
-Good mix of mostly wide open, with some technical/wooded shots

Cons:

-Better signage between holes. Without the score card I would have been lost.

Other Thoughts:

Great course. There's also a little nine hole in the center of the bigger 18 hole course. I didn't play it but it would be fun for a warm up round before you play the 18.

Pros:

-Brand new tee pads, great baskets.
-Helpful tee signs.
-Great design with interest on each hole.
-Good conditioning, mowed well.
-Chalet that provides restrooms, water, and food.
-Awesome elevation used in a variety of ways.
-Variety of shots, most of which I can't throw, but I imagine good players would appreciate that.
-Variety in distance, elevation, and shape required.
-Awesome views of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
-Good mix of open and tight.
-18 is pretty sweet (710' par 3 straight down the ski slope).

Cons:

-Need signs in between holes. Currently, without a scorecard, I wouldn't have found at least a few of the holes.
-Another set of tees would be good on a course like this.

Other Thoughts:

Hyland's new championship course is pretty solid from start to finish. Every hole has something different but it still flows well and provides a good challenge. Some of the best in my mind are 6, a challenging 425 right to left through the woods, 11, 360 down and to the left, wide open right but trees all the way down the left, 15, uphill and then right 300, and obviously 18, the signature bomber's hole. It's a bit of a trek, but well worth it. Bring a scorecard, you will need it to navigate. Definitely worth the 6 bucks and change (I believe $6.42 is the total this year) and certainly worth a round for anyone in the area.
