Great one for the kids 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 8, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Nice course map at the tee for hole 1. The tee signs are easy to find, partly because they're so close to the previous basket.
- The course begins and ends right next to the parking lot. Combined with the (very) short walks to the next tees and the short hole lengths, it plays very quickly with very little effort.
- Appears to be well maintained.
- The design is really good for beginners and kids. There are no blind shots, and the baskets are always visible from the tee. Nearly every basket is protected, and most of the fairways have some obstacle in play.

Cons:

- The natural tee pads are all unmarked except for the tee sign, and those signs are mostly within 10' of the previous baskets.
- Tee signs offer hole number and par, but no distances.
- Hole 4 plays along the short fence surrounding a playground. It's likely that kids will throw one over occasionally.
- Holes 3 and 9 cross each other, so take a look around before you throw on those holes.

Other Thoughts:

- It seems ideal for players rated 800 and below (purple, yellow). Higher skill levels will find a few ace runs and an opportunity to work on their approaches.
- There's no practice basket, but #9 is close enough to the first tee that you could use that.

Family Friendly Rating: 4.0
Pros: It's a safe, friendly environment for kids. It's the most easy-hike-for-a-kid course I've ever played, and pushing a stroller would be pretty easy as well. You're never far from the parking lot if you do need to leave mid-round.
Cons: The church has restrooms and a playground, but I suspect they're not available during course hours (evenings and weekends).
Other Notes: Balgriffen Park is another kid-friendly course nearby. There's a ton of family-friendly things to do in the area, but I'll specifically mention the Dublin Arts Council's Art in Public Places, which is fun for people of all ages to discover.
