I Think I Might Have Set A New Course Record! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 17, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Yes, I think I might have been the very first person to play this course without registering a single ACE. I'm confident my record will stand alone until the next seven year old attempts the course.

Kayak Point is a former ball golf course that is now Washington's newest disc golf complex. It currently features two challenging 18's as well as this little putter course. The putter course is free while the cost for the regular 18's is $12 for all day. Carts are available for might be a little pricey at $14 for your first round and an additional $10 for your second round. There is a nice selection of discs for purchase. Management is hoping to make this a true Disc Golf destination with two more 18's in the works.

The little pitch and putt is maybe closer to being a putt putt course. Hole distances range from about 45' to maybe 120'. There is some variety of terrain, some slight ups and down and also a water hazard. Although the water is only about 18" deep, there are retriever tools available. The course starts just on the far side of the parking lot with 1-7, then crosses the road for the final 11. There is a sign pointing you to # 1. The tee pads are small turf squares with the hole number spray painted on. The baskets are Mach VII's with the rounded top instead of the more common ?????. There is at least one next arrow pointing to the next tee. Although, there aren't really signs currently, the course is mostly intuitive to follow.

You should be able to complete a 18 hole round in 20-30 minutes and rack up some very cheap ACES in the process.

Cons:

Cons? I dunno, maybe some signage? It's a putter course. It would be a nice little warm up or cool down after an exhausting round on one of the big courses.

Kayak Point is quite a ways off the beaten track. It's 10 miles west past Stanwood on slow country roads.

Other Thoughts:

I believe this little course will be a popular attraction and see a lot of play. I wish Keith and his partners all the success in the world and look forward to getting up here again to tackle the big boy courses.

Fun warmup 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 19, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

This short, fun course is a good way to warm up the putt before heading out to one of the full courses. It's called 'pitch and putt' but it's really more of a jump putt course. Most of the holes are around 40 ft, with a few holes that are longer, up to 70 ft. A good use of elevation, shrubs/trees, and the small pond to make the putts interesting.

Cons:

The flow of the front nine is not 100% intuitive, so it's easy to walk to the wrong tee, but the course is so short it's easy to find where you need to go.

Other Thoughts:

A fun addition to the property.
