Pros:

Lots of elevation changes.
Technical holes but not where a beginner can't play the course.
24 holes!
nicely maintained.

Cons:

I can't say the course is poorly marked because it is not marked at all.
Vary easy to get lost if you have never played it before.
The course can and will get crowded.
Some (you MIGHT run into a group), NOT ALL THE PLAYERS! on the course have bad edicate.

Other Thoughts:

Just a great feel to the course.
I would of given it a 5 if the holes where marked.
If you do play this course, go early in the day or later in the evening.

DO IT 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 31, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Awesome layout takes you over and under (see the tunnel pic) one of the biggest parks I've ever been to.

Nice variety in the holes, especially in regards to elevation. Several holes' baskets were either up on a hill or cradled in a low-lying valley. There were also several "paths" to choose from on each hole let you play it safe or go for the sweet shot through the timber.

Twenty-four holes challenge your endurance. Bring some beer to refuel.

Cons:

VERY crowded. It was the nicest Sunday of the year, but still. Man. I'm talking groups of fifteen, twenty people. I highly recommend playing this one on a weekday with a few friends.

No signs. Anywhere. This would have been cool if there had been only one path to follow as you wound your way through the woods. But after almost every basket, there were two paths you could take. We had to keep asking for directions, and no one really knew for sure. Some people were talking about "bonus holes" or something. A hole is a hole. Come on now. It was just really frustrating. Take some spray paint and mark the tee people! This would have earned at least a 4/5 if it weren't for the total lack of markings.

Some doucher behind us kept teeing off before our group had finished the hole. Bad form, guy.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, a very enjoyable experience with different holes that will challenge both your drives and your short game. A nice outing to be had by all who play.

Pros:

Fun course - good creative holes. Lots of elevation changes, lots of trees. dual tees on every hole. Most holes require a fair amount of accuracy. Practice area near parking lot is HUGE!!!! big bonus points for that

Cons:

TOO MANY CASUAL PLAYERS make it slow. and it gets very crowded with them. I would play here way more often if it didn't get so backed up. I'm all about the sport growing, but this is a bit too much.

difficult to navigate at certain parts of the course. You'll end up going the wrong way at some point, so ask someone for some direction.

Other Thoughts:

I like this course alot. It's too bad it's so crowded. Try to get there early to beat the crowds.

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 20, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Hole Variety/Course Layout--
Good variety (Moslty favors "accurate" big arms). Alot of holes are long and straight with thick woods on each side, but still has a decent amount of wooded tech holes. Also some decent elevation on a few holes.

Course Atmosphere--
Really nice!! In a huge metro park with alot of activites! Park is so big that it has its own highway running through it.

Cons:

Course Navigation--
No signs and very hard to navigate for 1st timers (accually impossible for 1st timers). Map is a MUST (print off here, no maps at course).

Amount to Play--
$4 park fee, and I heard there will be a playing fee on top of that as of 09' (not sure the amount yet).

Other Thoughts:

Course Maintenance--
The course itself could be in better condition, but the metropark is so big that its understandable. There are concrete tee pads on every hole.

Pros:

This course is definitely one of my favorite top 5,great variety of open & wooded holes,Pro and Am cement tee pads,24 holes, some decent elevation changes, practice basket, bathrooms, nice park with beaches and picnic areas, great layout allows several routes to avoid backups

Cons:

1st timers may have a hard time navigating course due to no signs, course can get pretty busy, vandalism, large groups of casual players,no signs

Other Thoughts:

After hole 9 go right to play 24 holes, go left to play 18,after hole 4 go through the tunnel and follow trail uphill to the right to get to hole 5,after hole 5 you have to backtrack down the fairway and turn left towards the road, course is located by martindale beach parking lot on both sides(look for practice basket)Fall 08 course is being partially moved so play it while you can,Metro park pass required $4 daily $20 yearly, rumor has it that next year will be pay to play like hudson mills $2 daily $50 yearly

Pros:

This has to be my favorite course. Layed out real nice. Pro and am concrete pads on most holes. Lets you use every shot in your bag. Left, right, uphill, downhill, & even an over tree shot (Vietnam). Wooded bonus holes halfway through. You can choose between 11, 18, & 24 holes. A lot of nice people that'll help you out. Course loops around to the parking lot. There's a nice beach right by the course if you want to take a swim after your game. There's a party store down the street that sells disc's.

Cons:

A lot of bugs; bring bug spray. A lot of trash throughout. No signs. some holes are blind so it'd be hard to judge your first time. Watch your disc 'cause you might loose it. Metro park cops walk through randomly to make sure no one is doing anything illegal. Unfortunately alcohol is not allowed.

Other Thoughts:

To play 11 holes go left after hole 4 before the tunnel. To play 18 holes go through the tunnel and follow the path right & after hole 9 go left. To play 24 (bonus holes) go right after hole 9.

Pros:

Great design featuring all siorts of shots from big downhill open drives to tight twisting tunnels and roller options. Great dual tee pads, great park facility. One of the very best in the state.

Cons:

Tee signs were vandalized 5-6 years back, so it's not marked. Can be extremely crowded in summer, broken glass often found on course thanks to vandals.

Other Thoughts:

Just a response to those about there not being signs. 6-7 years ago it had great looking wooden tee signs, like Hudson Mills, but vandals decimated them within a year so they had to be removed.

Nice Scenic Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 1, 2007 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Multiple Tees, good mixture of holes, some wooded, some more open, good variety of hole length. You'll use all the shots in your bag at this course. some elevation changes.

Cons:

Signs could be better, we got lost the first time we played this one, and we didn't realize there were two different tees until some locals clued us in after about the 4th hole. Most of the 'pro' tees are longer distance, usually a blind tunnel shot. Pretty crowded on the weekend day that we played it.

A good place to have fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 10, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Most of the holes are open fairways with trees on each side. The Pro and Am tees lets people of all skill levels pay and have fun.

Nice concrete pads!

The configuration lets you play 9, 18, or 24 holes, it may be confusing the fist few times out but if you check out the map on this site you should be able to figure it out. When you finish Hole 9 you can choose to go left to play 18 or go right to play 24.

Cons:

The holes/tees could be marked better.... A nice map you be helpful. More trash cans would be nice to keep the litter down.

Other Thoughts:

My first time out I didn't know about the pro and am tees and half the time I was playing from the Pro tees which I should have been doing.
