Pros:
-Fresh new concrete tee pads
-Course upkeep has greatly improved recently
-New signs with improved maps and distances being added (about 75% are in when last played)
-Good use of the small available footprint of land, including use of obstacles, mandos, and elevation
-2 tees to each of the 9 baskets
-Healthy discatcher baskets
-Variety of holes that allow for beginner pars and experienced challenge
Cons:
-Private course to the gated Lakengren community, must have someone let you in
-no water or bathrooms available
-not really enough parking to allow tournament play
Other Thoughts:
Especially when the recent improvements and upkeep is taken into account, this is a wonderful 9-hole course with a long and short tee for each basket. The variety of shots allow for a multitude of learning opportunities and is perfect for a community park. My biggest complaint is the restricted access, but I doubt this will change if I know how the Lakengren community operates. Definitely worth playing a round if you know someone to get you in.
