Pros:

-Nice baskets, with flags on top with the hole #s
-Concrete Tee Pads
-Mostly to itself in the park, (1 shelter, 1 restroom, 1 small playground)
-Good mix of open / wooded, short / medium

Cons:

-No signage
-Summer Rough is very rough, disc loss possible
-#1 plays across the road
-#2 plays near a small playground
-#4 tees across the #3 fairway
-No benches / trashcans
-Took a while to figure out the layout (Added a map)

Other Thoughts:

Littlefield Park DGC is located in the Littlefield Recreation Area about 6 miles east of Exira, IA. The course runs in an area that contains the Old Shelter House and is along the west edge of the park, just south of the Old Campground. First tee is near the shelter house and plays to a lovely alcove, but over the road and near the pit toilets. Hole #2 tees from behind the toilets, past a small playground and out to the open. #3 begins open and finishes about 40' deep in the trees. #4 tees off across the #3 fairway. #5 starts in the trees, is the longest hole with a left dogleg once you exit the trees. More trees to work around to bend right to #6. #7 tees a short open section to a tunnel to the basket. #8 and #9 play in a more open, but still wooded area. The layout gives some nice diversity of shots, there are just those minor hazard issues. No real boomer holes here and you have to be tight on the tunnel shots as the summer rough is waist high. Add some nice tee signage and this bumps up a 1/2 disc for me. Once I figured out the layout, I enjoyed my round (when I wasn't searching the rough) and would play again if in the area.

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 4, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great hole layout and use of space.
Each hole is at the length of a par 3.
This park has many old trees that are used well in the layout of the holes.
Concrete tee pads.
Brand new baskets.
Bathrooms on site.

Cons:

Only one trash can.
No sign posts yet. (small orange flags added)
Must park on grass.
Challenging tight shots.
Punishing Rough on 5,6 and 7.(when played in late summer)

Other Thoughts:

Talked the the park ranger that designed the course. Brought up my concerns about some of the cons listed above. He seemed receptive to all of them. He already had plans to resolve most of the problems I had talked to him about.

All in all well designed course. My buddies played 3 rounds with me so we could complete a full 18. Each hole is challenging enough where you won't become bored.
