-new baskets, decent tees w/ signs
-some particularly fun holes (6 was my favorite with a slight uphill and some decent guardian trees, and 9 was also fun with the basket up on a ridge under a tree)
-longer than you might expect for a 9-hole; decent wind/distance practice

-lots of shots that could potentially hit other park users
-overshadowed by some of Tulsa's greats that are nearby (great problem to have!)

I played this course early in the morning on a full day of disc golf in Tulsa. I only brought a few discs (mids/putters), not having carefully scouted out the hole distances. When I play again, I'll be sure to bring at least a couple drivers, since the first 4 holes were much longer than I expected (~400'). That's definitely more of a positive than a negative, except for the fact that several of the holes here throw over/near soccer fields, softball field, the park walking path, the parking lot, and a picnic area. I was there before 8 in the morning, and I already had to wait for folks to walk past both on the walking path and the picnic. The soccer fields were empty, but I doubt that's the case in the evenings.

It's a fun practice course, and I'm glad Tulsa's disc golf scene seems to be thriving. I hope this gets some kids hooked on disc golf. Perhaps the library (close to 7's tee, where I parked) already has or will have some kind of after school program to get the community throwing. Nevertheless, it's close enough to McClure or Blackhawk/Redhawk that I'll probably head somewhere else next time I'm in the area.

Rating: I feel like I'm being hard on this course giving it a 2.0, but I definitely feel it's lacking a little compared to my 2.5 courses. It has a couple above average holes, but most are very open. Don't play on busy days, or you'll likely be skipping holes or waiting for people to move out of your way. Once again, thanks to Tulsa Disc Sports for the maintenance, new baskets, and signs!

These (most all) 9 hole courses get overlooked by the disc golf crowd.
I have found many hidden "9 hole gems" in a bunch of towns. This one is no different. Could easily play this course in 30 minutes then make your own t-pads and basket combinations from there.
Would be a good course to play when Chandler is packed.

Very open, could be windy...but you gotta learn to throw in the wind.

Most likely you would have the hole course to yourself on any given day.

If it were not for the copper thieves, this could be a lighted disc golf park. Possibilities of having lights (already there) on during the night would be cool. It is a shame we have came to this as a society.

Park is nice, could use some City of Tulsa maintenance on the lights, and one "leaning tower of Pisa" basket.

Could be a cool place if people knew what a trash can was used for.

This course has excellent tee pads and new Discatcher baskets. The flow is logical and rounds should play quickly here. The signage is good as well.
The grounds were well maintained.
This is a very beginner friendly course and disc loss should be nil here.
There is a playground nearby.
Some of the holes will have you wanting to run the chains and go for that ACE.
You can definitely air out some drives on the first 4 holes.
Hole observations:
1-Long, wide open hole
2-Long, wide open hole
3-moderate length with the basket in the open
4-Long hole that throws down the walking path
5-moderate length straight shot
6-moderate length and has a tree on the right hand side of the fairway
7-moderate length with a pavilion to the right hand side
8-short hole that will have ACE RUN potential
9-short hole that is slightly uphill

There are barely any trees here to shape lines.
The grounds can get spongy after a heavy rain.
No trash cans or benches, those options are always nice.
Being that this course is so wide open the summertime heat won't be blocked and the wind will add to the challenge of your round.
The fairway for hole 4 is basically the walking path. You will have to be paying extra attention here as to not plunk an unsuspecting walker by accident.
This isn't the courses fault but there is all ready graffiti on 7's tee sign. I just don't understand why people feel the need to deface public property. Can we not have nice things for others to enjoy???

This course is similar to Zeigler park across town.
This is a good introductory level course and its nice to see the city of Tulsa expanding disc golf for the community. This course along with Zeigler park would be good places to warmup before hitting some of Tulsa's more challenging courses like Blackhawk, Redhawk, Chandler Park, Hunter Park, etc.
When you look at this course from a beginner's perspective it is a good course that will challenge but not frustrate.
This course uses length on the first 4 holes to add to the challenge but makes up for it with the shorter holes at the end to balance things out.
Its not a destination course by any means but its another option for the Tulsa area.
If they were to plant some trees on the open holes and provide some lines to be shaped that would help tremendously. Nevertheless the designer used what was available to the best that could be used.
If you are expecting a heavily wooded course then move on down the road. If you like a more open park style 9 holer then this course will hit the mark.
