Perfect for a Lunchtime Round 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 24, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Pitch and putt through 9 short wooded holes built on a hillside

+ Mostly decent (though very short) holes with narrow fairways carved through the woods

+ Great signage, paver tees with brooms, good baskets. The signage is not to be missed: it includes local trivia about the Orenaug area

+ Because of its location along a steep hillside, this short course uses elevation to create challenges. The best example of this is the super short hole #4 (just 120'!), but it's downhill and the throw is all about knowing how to land the disc properly if you miss the ace

Cons:

- I guess if you played here regularly, the challenge is how many aces you can make

- The open holes (1, 8) are open AND short - so you're just throwing darts

Other Thoughts:

COURSE AMENITIES SUMMARY: Pavers, signage, brooms and hand sanitizer (!) on the tees, local trivia, plenty of parking, active local club with pictures of aces at the first tee, nice staircase down to #4 tee. The course is mostly cart-friendly...but it's only 1300' and you can play it with a putter and a mid

~ Using the park as the GPS destination takes you to the wrong place. Navigate to the first tee by finding the parking lot for the nursing home, which is located behind the police station.

~ A remarkable amount of work and care has gone into this course. It's perfect for beginners, and for beer league play focused on ace runs. This place just reeks of fun

RECOMMENDED COMBINATIONS: Worth a visit, but not a destination by itself. The very good, newly-expanded Hidden Pond is nearby for an easy combination. I played them both early one morning on my way to the big courses in Bristol. If you're near Orenaug, it would make a great stop for playing a 20 minute lunch round with a putter and a mid

Fun beginner course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 27, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice, fun, beginner course.
Well signed, new baskets.
Creative use of space, a good mix of up, down and across hills.
Hole 1 is wide open uphill to get you warmed up and the next holes are either quite obvious or signs guide you there.
A quick play with easy navigation between holes.
Discs are easily found, it would be very difficult to lose one here.
Most of the holes should be navigable and reachable by anyone with moderate control and distance.
Useful for putting and approach practice.

Cons:

Hole 9 is so heavily protected that a roller or low skip hyzer seem like the only options.

Other Thoughts:

I really enjoyed this little course.
Some reviewers might argue that the holes are too short and too few of them to merit a high rating, but the course has done what it set out to do and is accessible to beginners as well as pros who are not too full of themselves.
