Small Town Course...Good Time 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 13, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- park was clean and mowed
- course map
- tee signs
- easy to follow around
- trees create some issues

Cons:

- no tee pads
- If park is busy:
--- roads
--- picnic shelters close to fairways/baskets
--- Fairways 1 and 9 are real close

Other Thoughts:

I had the pleasure of hooking up with a couple of locals, Chris and Bill, which added a fun dimension to the round. Once I found the beginning, a lot of pieces fell into place. It was clean, mowed and fun to play. Only Hole 5 was totally wide open. you probably won't drive just to play it, but I'd recommend you play it if you're close.

Disc golf in a roadside park 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well maintained park with adequate signage. This course uses what little elevation that is present and it uses what trees are there to make for a few fun shots.
This is a good beginners course and disc loss should be nil.
Rounds should play quickly and the flow is logical.
Good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
There are a few holes that have ACE RUN potential.
Hole observations:
1-moderate length and open
2-mostly open and slightly uphill
3-slightly downhill and has a nice gap mid fairway, also the longest hole
4-slightly uphill and has a big tree in the center of the fairway to navigate around
5-wide open with the airport on your right acting as OB
6-short with the basket between the rest room and the trees on the left side of the fairway
7-similar to 6 but has a bit lower ceiling
8-blind hole with the basket across the road behind the bush
9-slightly downhill with the basket being semi protected

Cons:

This course has a few safety concerns. Many of the holes play across the road that winds through the park, see holes 2, 4, 6-8. Also on hole 9 if you go a bit long to the right there is the threat of hitting someone at the picnic shelter. Please be cautious before you throw.
It is possible to put a disc over the fence on hole 5 which is airport property. I don't know if it is trespassing or not to retrieve your disc so use your best judgement.
This isn't the courses fault but the grass was struggling upon my visit. I hope with the recent rains in the area that the grass can survive the summer heat.
This course is pretty flat and is pretty open for the most part so if you like a hilly course or a tight wooded course you will have to look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts:

Overall this is a typical small town 9 hole course that uses what is available as best it could. It would be a nice place to get out and stretch your legs and arm and get in a quick nine.
Its not over technical so beginners won't be frustrated but there isn't really any hole that will stand out either.
If you are passing through the area and feel the urge to play then give this one a stop.
