Short and Technical Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

I didn't really pay attention to the distances marked on the poles, but I usually play +10-12 and I shot even this round. I think it was mainly due to the length of the course.

Varied elevation and scenery is nice as well.

Cons:

For a lot of the holes it seems like I was always doing the same shot and almost always having a long putt for 2 with a follow up for three.

Due to the layout of the area I'm not sure if it would have even been possible, but having a bunch of technical wooded holes as the front 9 and wide open fields as the back 9 can get a little monotonous.

Challenging but rewarding 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 11, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Awesome and well laid out course. This course will challenge even the seasoned pro. Front nine is through a beautiful wood lot with lots of tight flight lines. Lots of make it or break it type shots that could have you running for the Ace or hit one of those trees and your struggling to get a bogey. The back 9 opens up into some nice open flight lines and allows you to bring out your drivers to push some distance.
The unique feature of this course if the basket for #16 which is perched on top of a 8-10ft mound of dirt and really makes you reconsider running the chains for the birdie (with high % chance of missing) or lay it up for the easy par.

Cons:

Poison ivy is in these woods. The Barrie DGC is working with the city to have this removed but its something to always keep in mind if you end up deep in the trees

Other Thoughts:

Lots of Ace runs and well worth the visit to play one of the more challenging courses that ON has to offer.

Well done boys and girls!!!
