Pros:

Getting to play with the course designers your first time to a private course is indeed the PRO of pros.

Beautiful property.

VARIETY- Shots, Trees, and Terrain

Shots:
You are presented with a multitude of hole types here. If your game lacks imagination, it'll want not for frustration. I used every trick in my bag! Not for schnitz and giggles mind you, but rather out of necessity. A course that often inspires creativity, will only progress ones over all game.

Trees:
Surprising diversity here. Major pro! In front there are several rows of Pines. Then an open field with a small Apple Orchard. The main Wooded portion of the course is behind there. Them some gnarly woods by golly! And to switch things up, there is a section of Pines back up in there too. Pretty sweet :)

Terrain: Water and Elevation
Great use of available elevation. About 2/3 of the holes engage the elevation found on this property. Nothing huge, but enough to effect, impact, or impair shots. Some terrific Pin placements using natural architecture (3 comes to mind).
Few holes encounter the Swamp in the middle of the woods. 1 water carry, with a unique Tee and boardwalk. This hole is outstanding!

First time playing to Liberty baskets. They look great, and more importantly, catch great!

Cons:

This course will suckerpunch you. Be prepared and get crafty.
Designers were unapologetic when my drives hit a tree. Kinda rude actually, now that I think about it.
Course needs more 900 foot prairie style holes.
Couldn't find the 6x12 concrete Teepads, so I had to stand on the ground to throw?
Course felt "Private"
Dead Egrets can curse your drive on hole #1

Other Thoughts:

Replayability: Without doubt.
Mike, Nick, and company have done a stellar job. The hundreds of hours of labor put into this course was well spent. The design is balanced, for a mostly wooded course. They used every geographical element to fulfill the Disc Golf fun factor.

This course is rough around the edges. The fairways may not always involve the prerequisite "fair". There is no denying that the challenge is a heavily wooded one. But I appreciate SoWeMi for presenting the opportunity to search out new shots in a confluence of necessity, frustration, and want.

Replayability? I always look forward to revenge :D

Pros:

I don't want to repeat too much of what Jukeshoe has written already. The course is on a very pretty plot of land and a nice mix of water, trees, field and some good elevation change. Not the biggest course in the world but it begs mentioning that it's really cool how varied the landscape is regardless of the size; every 2-3 hole sections of the course are easy to distinguish from memory.

To me the best feature is that it is a little smorgasbord of holes, whether it's a tight tunnel of pines, an open field shot, or some technical, natural woods. There's water on the course but only one hole year-round is a serious threat to send a disc to Davy Jones' locker (and fairly easy enough to avoid if you play conservative). I really enjoyed the use of elevation and the line shaping that was required, the course does an excellent job of avoiding straight holes over and over.

The flow of the course is pretty good, although seamless navigation of the course is nearly impossible without a guide. Some fairways are practically perfect, others in the woods are on the tighter side but nothing worse than many private courses I've played.

Some holes have alternate pin placements or tees and hole 10 has a cool split fairway with a high risk/high reward, direct line on the left and a more forgiving hyzer line on the right. The bridge on hole 9 is pretty epic.

Cons:

There's some "new course" roughness here and there and like mentioned earlier, tough to navigate w/o a guide. Ever after playing it a couple of times I still got confused on the hole 12-13 transition.

Some of the holes are a bit too tight for my taste at this juncture, #3 and #7 being the worst offenders IMO. #5 approach seems a bit rewarding of luck more than skill too. You'll definitely sharpen your "get of jail" shots out here.

Other Thoughts:

I'm not sure it's possible to have a bad time here. Even if you don't shoot well (and more than a few of us didn't) there's such a chill, cool vibe here that it doesn't matter, you just want to play more disc. The owner is a gentleman and a scholar and I'm horribly envious of his cabin, not to mention his course.

I'd have to say my favorite hole is a 3-way tie between #4 a fun, downhill tunnel dogleg right around a shed; #14 which is similar except more downhill and extreme dogleg; and #17 a long, winding snake through the woods. That doesn't even mention the pond hole, #11, with its hanging basket from a picturesque tree.

I don't know if the course excels in any one area (besides fun factor and bridge engineering) but it's very good across the board. Hopefully one day I'll be fortunate enough to return.
