Don't Drive Out Here 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 25, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This is a small course for KoP area locals, who don't have much else nearby. The existing five holes are straightforward, pedestrian but reasonable in concept, and a concrete path runs the entire way.

The designers did with what land was here but the park is oddly shaped, 1850 feet long but less than 100 feet narrow, with restricted the layout. You can invent your own holes on the back half of the course to extend the game a bit, but there's not a whole lot here in the first place.

#5, the last hole, is also the best starting as a wide field ending with an uphill basket hidden by a gap in the tree line.

It probably will be empty of other players.

Cons:

It's not a destination course nor would I normally drive here even as a mild course bagger, if I wasn't already in the immediate area otherwise. Either way you park, you're gonna end up backtracking the course either way, there is no dedicated park parking lot.

Because the tees are just boards in the ground and darkened with age, it's easy to miss them. The park is smack dab in middle of subdivisions on all sides but strangely so desolate it might feel unsafe to some and the atmosphere kinda depressed me.

It lacks course or hole signs and there's no map. The chains seemed a bit rusty from disuse.

Other Thoughts:

Starting Point: You can either park at the Sweetbriar Shopping Center, with a "6-Eleven Food Market" is diagonally across from tee#1. Or go to the the circular cul de sac at the end of Hansen road, at 40.107339, -75.376501 on google maps. It's at the other end of the park near Hole 5.
