A clever technical course if you like bushwhacking 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 27, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

First off, I am an amateur athlete that enjoys back woods sports like adventure racing, mountain biking, and trail running. So I am very comfortable, and really enjoy bushwhacking. Therefore, I like holes that do not have an obvious groomed route, and allow you to be creative in your route choices.
That said, this course delivers!
Holes 2 to 5 go through a dense cedar forest, some with a clear path, some not so much. A few of the holes on the back 9 also run you through a hilly forest with no clear line.
The remaining holes have clear lines and traditional terrain. Wind can be a changeable factor depending on if you are high up or low down.
A very clever technical course with lots of rolling hills, off camber, and tree hazards.
Very quiet during the camping off season.

Cons:

A map may come in handy as some holes are not connected too obviously. You will get lost the first time.
Expect your disc to bang into a lot of trees. You may need a spotter if you are using your valuable discs.

Other Thoughts:

Love the place! My go to for a quiet and enjoyable time.
***** LATEST UPDATE JUNE 8 ********
Unfortunately, the course is now poorly maintained due to the fact that the conservation park is closed. Long uncut grass on almost all holes, except for holes 2 to 5. Sad...

A great course - totally underrated 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 3, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Beautiful, picturesque natural setting-- an expansive car camping conservation area with rolling hills and forested land.

Park located in Tottenham, Ontario--a charming little town just 45 minutes north of Toronto--pretty much up highway 400.

This generally very well groomed course features short and long pad positions and good-looking Prodigy green baskets.

The first fives holes are a dream for kids and/or beginners - veteran players might enjoy ace-racing them.

Holes 6 to 18 offer some challenging drives (even a couple of 400+' holes) with a variety of elevations and settings.

Very relaxed setting and friendly camping families with kids -> I have seen few, if any, other golfers playing.

This conservation area has a beach & beach volleyball! You can swim and camp overnight there for $cheap.

Cons:

While the signs and tee pads are great, an absence of basic wayinging make this course tricky to navigate the first times.

The park is private but the cost to access with your car is low ($5). You can avoid this fee by parking outside & walking in.

Speaking of walking, expect lots of it. This is not a course you can easily zip through. Even just getting to #1 can be a haul.

Pack your bug spray!

Park has weird rules around alcohol?!?

Other Thoughts:

The first tee position can be tricky to find. You can ask for directions at the gate--they will even give you a printed map.

Totally/unfairly criticized. If you prepare (bring a course map, bug spray, plenty of time, etc.) you may just like it as much as I do.

2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 26, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has 17 disc golf baskets.

Cons:

Layout is poor. 1/3 of the holes in the woods have no line. The longer open holes are often blind to other users and vehicles in the park. Difficult to navigate without map or scorecard. Teepads are dangerous, slippery and too small. I probably will not play there again.

Other Thoughts:

Better than nothing.
