Meh 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 2, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Only pros for this course is that it had baskets.

Cons:

So many cons to list....
-No teepads/ nothing even marked to tee
-Terrible flow/layout
-Some tee signs, but small and low to the ground.
-Baskets in terrible condition/ some baskets leaning
-Potential for alot of foot traffic/students
-No trash cans.
-UNABLE TO ACCESS BASKETS TO HOLE #6, #7, AND #8.

Other Thoughts:

Only true reason to play this course is to increase your courses played. Or if you just HAVE TO PLAY. But really a course I would say skip or don't waste your time.

Pros:

It's a course on campus, if you go to school here, you are a happy camper.
Some of the holes are fun, but not really that challenging
Most of the holes have you teeing off sidewalks

Cons:

well, this is going across the campus, even in the middle of the summer I had to wait for students to walk past holes to be able to throw. Several of the tee signs are missing and the holes are not marked, however you can print a map from this page and play it mostly correct.
Holes share fairways. 1/2 4/5 7/8 but I doubt you will ever see another player on this course.
Hole 9 was put in before a fence, you can't use the sidewalk to throw from.

Other Thoughts:

I was visiting a business a bock away from this course today, so I swung by to get my 250th course played.

I did not carry my bag, I only took a Pro Aviar Putter which did not work so well on the 300 ft holes. Yes, believe it or not, some of the holes are 300+

In all, each hole was not all that bad, not a course I would try to play everyday. PRINT OUT the map from this page to find the holes. I had to play from best guess tee boxes on 1,2,3, and 6. The other 5 had tee signs, although hole 8's was backwards.

I was unable to play hole 9, they had construction all around the basket and i could not get to it.

Worst course ever? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 26, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets. Not that they are good, but there are baskets.

Cons:

Everything but the presence of baskets.

-- Course layout is terrible. Even with a map, you'll be hard pressed to find your way. The walk from 5 to 6 is ridiculously long and forces you to find your way through a fence at on-campus apartments. Every hole has you throwing across a sidewalk. Even on a non-school day, I had to wait several times for pedestrians who were oblivious to the game.
-- Tee pads/signs. No actual tee pads anywhere. Holes 1, 2, 3, & 6 had nothing to indicate where you should tee from, not even worn spots in the dirt. Holes 7 & 8 had tee signs pointing the wrong direction. Hole 9 had a 6-foot fence between the "pad" and the sign. The distance between the pad and sign was less than 2 feet, so basically you are throwing over a 6-foot high fence at the end of your tee pad.
-- Poor baskets. Single set of chains is the least of the problems. The bottom ring holding the chains to the center post on No. 1 is broken, so most of the chains hang loose on the outside of the catching basket. Basket 3 leans badly. Basket 5 is missing the inner ring on the catching basket.

Other Thoughts:

Construction on campus is also an issue. Basket 6 is surrounded by orange construction fencing. The construction could have contributed to several issues listed above, but it can't explain everything. This course is so unknown/unplayed by people on campus that a car was parked 3 feet IN FRONT of basket 8. And a campus security guard knew nothing of the course.

fun night golf course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 15, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

-a variety of fun shots
-nice new discatchers, signs at each tee
-grass mowed, campus is very clean
-great use of elevation
-lots of campus features and trees with which to contend
-tees are mostly near sidewalks so there is always a flat surface from which to throw
-lots of lights around campus make night golf pretty easy. i played without lights or glow tape.

Cons:

-cannot play while there are a bunch of people on campus, which is most of the time during the day
-some long walks between holes, the layout works but there are unavoidable walks between different areas of campus

Other Thoughts:

**Update**
The course is in disrepair with many baskets missing chains and construction displacing holes 8 and 9.
*****

The shots here are pretty fun. If there aren't many people around and you don't have to worry about hitting anyone then this is a pretty cool course. I played in the evening with no disc lights and had no problem as there are lots of lights around campus. This is a good course for playing night golf since it's well lit and it's probably the only time the course will be empty enough to play without waiting 10 mins on each tee for the right moment to throw.

Maybe it was just because it was dark but it seemed to me that the distances were a little overstated. Pretty much every basket is reachable from the tee but it's a matter of dodging the obstacles. Trees, parking lots, a volleyball court, and even school buildings come into play. The baskets are discatchers but they are painted with the school colors so at first the chains sound like plastic. The layout works but is a pain, as the holes are spread across campus.

Fun if the conditions are playable but this course is for night golf, local students, and course baggers only. There are way better options in Fort Worth; go check out Gateway nearby here.

different 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 27, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

*Different scenery then what you are use to on a disc golf course. Being set on a college campus made for some interesting throws. Having to avoid artwork instead of trees is always a plus- This is probably the strongest thing on this course. It was a real nice change, and what actually made me give it a higher ranking
*tee signs (no basket numbers yet)
*good use of land
*security- saw campus security patrol through a few times
*good use of trees to make shots challenging

Cons:

*9 hole
*no real tee pads-throwing from sidewalks
*Baskets-homemade one level of chains
*criss-crossing holes
*being on campus means alot of people using side walk
* hole 6 throws along parking lot---cars are not suppose to be targets
*if not familiar with campus kind of hard to follow along
*walk 5 to 6 is long and back tracking, 8 to 9 is a walk too

Other Thoughts:

i played on saturday and only saw a few people. I drove by on a thursday a few weeks ago and decided not to play because of the amount of people walking around.
*IF this was an 18, with the last 9 being designed the same way i could give it a 3.5
*i think it makes a nice complimentary course for Greenbriar or The Privey (gateway)

Fun Factor 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 29, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

I parked in the first parking lot off of Wesleyan St. (travel north) It's the Admin building and you have some visitor parking up front against the building. I really liked the setting and the upkeep on this course is the best I have played with no trash. thought this course had a lot of fun technical shots. It offered a lot of shot variation. It had baskets placed close to the side walk which made it more difficult considering the distance. I thought the setting was very non disc golf typical playing through the campus buildings. I loved the use of elevation and trees.

Cons:

I think total they had 2 or 3 tee signs that had a number spray painted on a little metal stake. Without out a map this course is not playable. Some holes cross the sidewalks so be very aware of foot traffic in the area, but I played at lunch time and had no trouble at all playing the entire course without interruption from pedestrians. I wanted to give this course a higher rating but you will understand why I did not if you play.

Other Thoughts:

I will go back and play this course again at lunch for a noon'er. I would give it a higher rating with some tee signs and maybe a little better flow between hole 5 and hole 6 and then again between hole 8 and 9. I would recomend this course with a map to anyone in the area.
