Fire breathing Dragon 2+ years

Pros:

Brand new DD Veteran baskets that are highly visible and catch well.
All shots are cover here from short to long, open to wooded, and a few holes have water threat as well.
Many holes allow you to air out your throws. While the middle holes require you to shape some lines which is nice.
Hole 2 had a bit of a pucker factor is you were to go long and that added to the challenge of the hole.
Holes 7, 8, and 11 are nicely wooded shots that require accuracy over distance. These 3 holes were my favorites here.
There is water threat for RHBH/LHFH on holes 10, 12, and 16. This helps to keep you on your toes.

Cons:

No signage yet but there are little flags and make shift markers to get you by for right now.
Tee pads are dirt and might be slick after a solid rain.
Many of the holes are open and with the brisk OK winds they can play that much tougher.
Some holes play close to roads and over or through a walking path. Please be aware before you throw.

Other Thoughts:

Overall this is a good course that could benefit from the planting of some trees on the open holes. As the trees mature that would provide for more lines that need to be hit and would help spice things up a bit. It's close to I35 so if you were traveling and needed to get out and throw this is a good option. For you long throwers that love to grip and rip this is a course that is right up your alley. Also this course is set by a very nice and peaceful lake.
For players that like a more technical course, holes 7, 8, and 11 will provide you with a treat. This course was getting a lot of play on a Sunday morning so its great to see it getting some love.

Windy Mini 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 4, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Long, technically challenging course (if you use mandos, OBs, and hazards)
-Very clean park
-Well placed goals that are in excellent condition

Cons:

-No tee pads
-No tee signs
-No welcome sign with layout
-No indication of OB or hazards at the tee
-All the OB and hazard rules are hard to follow
-Flow passes dangerously close to running trails and roads.

Other Thoughts:

This course is still a work in process. They will eventually get tee boxes and signage, and that will make it a little better.

My bigger issue was all the hazard and OB rules that were not blatantly obvious at the tee pad. It seems like they squeezed the course in and tried to make up for not having natural obstacles by putting imaginary boundaries onto holes. Hole 9 is the biggest example of this. The rules were hard for many in the mini this Sunday to understand. I would prefer to play the course as it is laid out rather than imagine ways to make a course you just installed harder. To be fair, we played this weekend with winds that ranged from 20-38 mph, so the conditions were stupid hard anyway. The course did not need imaginary hazards to make it harder. I prefer courses that incorporate the natural obstacles available, and then let you decide how to navigate those obstacles. If the location does not have championship level obstacles available, then don't build it as a championship level course. Even with tee pads, signs, and no hazard/OB, this course would probably never be more than 3-4 for me.

Just for the record, I liked hole 9 the least and I liked hole 11 the most.

Updated on 9/9/19 due to its position on my continuing bell curve of courses played. Very close to being a 3.
