This course has a very long list of pros. Let's start with infrastructure. They have good tee signs (long tees), very flat turf tee pads, good catching baskets in good condition, a great practice area, and a fully functional pro shop with a good selection. Everything a top notch disc golf course should have. Even though the course is fairly long and covers a lot of ground, navigation was easy with the welded in tabs on the basket that point you to the next tee. I also appreciated that they put flags on top of the baskets as some of them are in areas that would be very hard to see. Now lets talk course design. There are a couple of the coolest holes I have ever played on this course, with #5 at the top of that list. It has a pond all down one side, and a dynamite bunker from the old rock quarry days down the right, with an old water wheel building next to the basket. It is truly a beautiful hole to admire, and a very tough hole to play. Some of the holes go through the old rock quarry, and one basket is perched on the edge of a rock cliff that is about 25 feet high. There is a basket on top of a stack of sand filled tires, one that is mounted through the engine compartment of an old tractor, and a basket with a 15 foot tall flag post with an American flag mounted on it. On top of this there are 2 island holes. One is a figurative island using a pond on the front of the green and OB on the back, and the other is a literal 30 foot island in the pond at the end of a hole that plays over 500 ft (hole 4). Almost every hole on this course has some kind of unique characteristic that makes this course an absolute one of a kind to play.

Well I liked the course so much there is not anything bad I would say, but maybe a few small improvements. To get the distance from the short tee pads you have to walk back and look at the long tee pads. It would be nice if they had their own signage. It plays fairly close to other private property, most of which is protected by barbed wire. You could lose some discs or be forced to trespass to retrieve them. Also some of the rough is very, very rough. Especially during the summer you need to keep in on the fairway. Either way it is a course that will have you carrying some extra discs.

I used just about every shot in my bag with the exception of my tomahawk. With my style of play I threw about 60% backhand and 40% forehand off the tee boxes. So it will test your ability's to work the disc both ways. There are several holes where you can air it out with no ceiling, and several holes where height control is absolutely paramount. Some holes have 150 foot wide fairways, and some holes have 35 foot fairways with tight OB on both sides. It is a true test of a well rounded golf game, and one of the prettiest courses I have ever played. The Farm at Quail Valley is in the conversation for the best course in Kansas, IMO.
