The Treeline DGC Is Ideal In Some Ways But Sorely Lacking In Others! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 28, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

The Treeline DGC is about as simple and basic as any course you'll ever come across. Here is what the courses consists of; Nine tiny little concrete tee pads which are about three feet long and nine plastic signs which are about 18 inches squared. These signs give the hole number and distance in yards and the par. They also serve as the targets. At the beginning of the course is a nice rack of about 30 of the worst loaner discs ever. The information sheet says the course is designed to be played with Ultimate frisbees but these are the cheapest plastic toys ever. Paul McBeth himself could not par this tiny course playing with these crummy little discs.

Hole lengths range from 125' to 195' with two par fives playing at 192' and 195' and five par fours playing around 150' along with two par threes. I see Derek Tonn has recorded the only round here and he shot a 17 under par round of 19 playing in a strong wind and rainy conditions. That's a great round, Derek but I'd be willing to bet he didn't shoot - 17 using the Ultimate Frisbee loaner discs.

What I like about this course is the 125' To 195' hole lengths are perfect for campers. Most of the holes are fairly open which is great. The designers went to the effort of pouring concrete pads and the course is easy to follow. Even the par fours and five are fine for the campers. Bully for them If they can actually get an eagle or birdie now and then. And the young lady who let me play was very pleasant.

Cons:

What I don't like about the course are the cheesy Ultimate frisbee loaner discs. They would cause anyone to go out and crap in the woods.

I'm never a fan of target courses but hey, they were cheap.

Tiny tee pads but most players shouldn't need much of a run up here.

Out of way location.

Other Thoughts:

I love the idea of having a disc golf course here at Camp Alta. I wish they had sprung for a few more bucks and purchased some decently heavy, Whamo frisbees with some weight behind them. This course would actually be kinda fun to play with your typical beach frisbee or pretend your in Japan and play with 150 gram golf discs. Then you could have a tea ceremony afterward!

Until then this is definitely a course for hard core course baggers or soft core campers.
