This fun course (which can be played in about 20 minutes) presents some fun ace runs, death putts, and approach practice for the more advanced players while still being a great place for beginners or families to come play. The elevation change is the course's biggest strength with several holes either playing uphill, downhill, or with a steep drop-off behind the basket. The holes are all about 200 ft or shorter. Navigation is a breeze as the tee signs (which show hole #, par, length, and a fairway description) are always easily visible from the previous basket; that said, they are not too close to the previous basket to be unsafe. There are a couple different playgrounds (one is K-State purple!), a volleyball court, picnic shelter, and grills on site as well, though they are a safe distance from the course. This course is just a couple minutes from the 18 hole Tuttle course and makes for a very nice warm-up course.

The tees are just dirt, and my guess is that they can get pretty muddy after some rainfall. One or two of the baskets (which are Mach III's) are a little bent up; they are all also painted (although the paint is coming off/rusting). It is possible to on a hole or two to throw into the road/driveway that encircles the park. If you do somehow manage to do this, you also bring into play about the only disc loss potential on this course by possibly going into the tree-line or subsequent drop-off.

Some big mature trees line the fairways of this course. Family is in the name of the course, so it's obvious that this course targets the beginner audience. I, personally, feel that it does a great job of reaching out to its intended audience with the hole lengths and lack of punishing rough while being easily navigable within a serene park setting. Yet, it also easily kept my interest as an intermediate player with a couple tighter lines to hit, death putts, and ace runs.

**UPDATE**
Concrete tees added in December 2021. They're nice and long, probably actually longer than the tees at Big Tuttle. Holes 3 & 7 now have more difficult pin positions. Some small, brushy patches were cleaned up, and the pins were moved amongst the remaining trees to make for a little more cluttered, challenging green.

Overall, this probably changes my rating to like 2.2, but not enough to take it over the hump to 2 and a half.
