Pros:
This is a brand-new course in Alma that plays around the baseball fields. The baskets are brand-new, blue and red Dynamic Veterans. Holes 1&5 have nice mando signs made by DD (the mandos prohibit RHBH hyzers over baseball fields).
There is some variety in elevation/hole type here: 1&2 are uphill, 3 is downhill, and 4 plays along an embankment. 8&9 cross a creek (pretty sharp, but not much water). 1, 2, 3, & 6 are open, but the rest have lines shaped by large, mature trees.
Cons:
Several holes are just way too open. They did the best they could with what was available, but sidewalks, ball fields, the parking lot, railroad tracks, and a gravel road are still possible to reach with an errant shot.
Navigation is tough if you don't use the UDisc map; there are no tee signs/markers. Long walks include from the parking lot to 1 (you walk past 7,8, & 9) and 5 to 6 (you walk along the waste water treatment facility, so it doesn't smell great).
Hole 8 is a nightmare even though it's only 122 ft; it screams "lost disc!" You throw over a creek, but the vegetation on both sides is so thick & overgrown that overhand is really the only viable way across.
Other Thoughts:
Holes 4,5,7,&9 are good holes and the only reason why this course gets even a 1.5 rating from me.
If you're driving across Kansas along I-70, this wouldn't be a bad place to stop and stretch your legs. It's only like 5 minutes from I-70 (the course takes about 30 minutes to play), and there's a place in town famous for it's cheese if you want a snack. If you live in Alma, this course is still probably your best option unless you want to drive all the way to Manhattan or Wamego.
