Almost Unplayable 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 4, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Memorial starts off with a decent first impression. There's a nice little tee sign with a decent looking hole in front of it. But after your first throw, you regret even stepping foot into the park.

Trying to think of pros... Still thinking... Well there's baskets to throw at. That's really about it.

Cons:

If the Disc Golf Satan came down and created the worst possible course, this would be it.

Awful design with #9 ending on the COMPLETE OPPOSITE SIDE of where you parked.

Poorly maintained, I'd consider the first 4 holes to be unplayable. Toppled trees blocking fairways, and poison ivy lining all of the wooded holes. Everything is overgrown.

There's one tee sign on the course (#1) with the rest being marked by short wooded posts with faded numbers. No navigational signs or maps, making it nearly impossible to play the course without getting lost.

Other Thoughts:

It's tough to be positive about a course this bad. There could be some potential here, but someone would have to come in and do a complete overhaul and redesign. But for now, don't come here. Even if you're just course bagging, this place is almost impossible to play at. You'll leave disappointed, confused, and probably a little muddy.

Pros:

There are baskets, and it's a good place to practice every once in a while. They built a few bridges over some problem spots, so that's a plus. Hole #7 is pretty fun, and is easily the best hole in the city of Wadsworth. There was nobody else on the course, so no waiting to tee off. There is a course information board with a map and disc golf rules. There is definitely some potential here...

Cons:

That's where the pros end. Unfortunately, the course has not really changed since I played here last, and that's definitely a bad thing. The woods is pretty overgrown, and there are no real tee signs to direct you to the basket, so it's just a guessing game. #9 does not even end close to #1. The wooded holes do not drain well at all. The design was very poor, and really needs to be re-done. No restrooms anywhere I saw. The rough is really rough on the wooded holes, and a few holes have fairways bordered with thorns and poison ivy.

Other Thoughts:

If someone could just take the time to re-dseign the course, it would go a long way. There is a boatload of potential for a decent 9-holer here, but at the moment, it's not worth playing even if you live across the street. I would not recommend you play here, so be warned...
