It's got potential drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Plenty of parking available.
- Two tees per hole
- Course is mowed and maintained well.

Cons:

- No tee signs, just poles signifying what tee.
- Gravel tee pads...
- Some fairways are super tight, could use some wider mows
- The rough is rough!

Other Thoughts:

I played this course after a road trip to Minnesota with one of the club members who put it in. The course has some potential to get better it just wasn't there when I played it and looks like it hasn't gotten there yet. Honestly not a bad stop off the highway for a quick break from a drive.

Hmmm.... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 26, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

I played this course today after bagging in MN for a few days. It was cold and dreary out. I got rained out of the last couple 9's I was going to play there. So I decided to stop here on the way back instead. Hmmm...

The baskets are beautiful Discatchers with a blue top band. Number plates facing the tee area help to determine that you're throwing at the right basket. These things are great. Mounted level and catch perfectly. I'd assume one pin position per hole.

The tee pads are currently maybe 4'x4' gravel pads. Not the worst things I've seen. They now have red or blue boards embedded in the ground at the front of each pad. Blue denoting longs, red shorts. Two tees per hole.

No tee signs, only thin 4 foot poles at the front of each pad. These do help locating the tees.

The course does offer a little bit of elevation change in some spots. Most notably on hole 2. Nothing major, but better than totally flat. Not much for trees in play. Holes 4-6 basically, as far as being in the fairway. Wind will be the main natural obstacle here.

The course was mowed and definitely playable when we played. The course was free and I'd assume permanent.

Cons:

Ughh..where to start. The tee pads, while present, don't serve much of a purpose. These small rocky gravel patches aren't long enough for really any run up. It'd be easier teeing off from the grass. They're actually kind of treacherous if it's wet out. If they put concrete ones in, that's great. I just don't see it happening. Who knows though.

Those poles they put in to mark the tee pads. They put them right on one of the front corners of the tiny pads. Forcing you to not use the tee pad. Or whack your hand on them. At least they are random. Some on the left front corner, some the right. So there's that.

I'm not sure what this piece of property is exactly. It looks it's built on an old landfill honestly. The parking lot was being used as a sand and gravel storage space. Presumably by one of the nearby businesses.

Other Thoughts:

I was a little disappointed when playing this course. Based on the 2 reviews I was expecting a bit more. I will say that they did what they could with what they had. The thing is that they really didn't have much. It's always good to see new courses pop up. And this is an area that doesn't have much nearby. It's just gotta be a 1.5 for me though. With a better tee area setup (pads and signs) I'd go up to a 2, possibly 2.5. As is, it's passable.

What it has going for it is easy access off the expressway, quick playability and a course with not much nearby. This is a quick pelt for course baggers or a place to stretch the legs. There's just not much else to offer unfortunately.

Woodville 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 14, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

+ Saw a sign for it on the road I turned off, but it appears this town has signs for everything.
+ There is plenty of parking in the paved lot (20 spaces) but the gravel lot closest to the course is filled with piles of sand, dirt, and broken chunks of asphalt. limiting parking to maybe 3-4 spaces.
+ 9 nice baskets in an area without a lot of courses, nice to swing through and play fairly quick.
+ The course is mainly open, but strategic trees and elevation help keep things interesting
+ Dual tees
+

Cons:

- Fairways on 1, 7, 8, 9 just 15' wide mowed through field.
- Plants are starting to grow up and into baskets.
- Natural tees marked with red and blue boards are kind of hard to find even with the dowels and pink ribbon, I assume tee signs are coming?
- No signage of any kind
- Long tees are just longer, no added challenge.

Other Thoughts:

This has the potential to be a very nice course, as it stands now, I'd still be happy to play it whenever I'm in the area.
Fun 9.

To get a 3.0: Tee signs.
To get a 3.5: Concrete tees, plant trees on 7-9

Ok, that was fun. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 14, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Some interesting and varied lines to throw. Good variety of hole lengths. New blue-banded targets make for easy navigation. Use of elevation is maximized. Mostly played on mowed grass.

Cons:

No tee signs (yet) but color-coded boards are in the ground for the blue and red tees. Ribbons on sticks aid in finding them. Later in the year, the long grass bordering the fairways could eat discs.

Other Thoughts:

I could see this course as having good re-playability. The course follows the edges of the park, because that's where most of the trees are. This course shows that sometimes one or two trees are all you need to shape the throw. The variety of holes lengths and changes in elevation assure you will not be throwing the same tee throw on any two holes.
