We have had plenty of talk on the shoes. On the Climo/Feldberg DVD champ is wearing black mid socks with Innova band around the top. I can't seem to find them on the WWW. You think these were made especially for the pro's?
Anyway, what is a good wicking sock? Champion has some for 10 bucks for a 3pack. Maggies Organic has a pair for 24 bucks. Timberland has a quarter pair for 24 also.
I know you can get Seal Skinz but who wants to pay 40 bucks for a darn pair of socks?

Any suggestions?

I wear black gore tex socks every round I play. They keep the feet dry along with keeping the chiggers/poison ivt off of the lower leg. GREATNESS!! Worth all of 40 bucks, Rocky and Cabelas both make similar socks.

That's really funny because I have exploded almost my entire stockpile of white socks. Even after they've been washed, they're still...dingy. Also really pathetic: I knew exactly the black socks Peabody mentioned.

...they are only like 8-10 bucks a pair.

You guys were some high dollar socks, I wear black socks all the time, but I get mine at wal-mart for like 8-10 bucks a PACK?!...

I never really thought about special socks for playing DG, or shoes for that matter. My black wal-mart tube socks and Chuck Taylor's have been good to me so far!...lol

Peabody, how's the clean-up efforts at the Paducah course coming along?

It is playable but there is still debris along the fairways that are going to be chipped up in the coming weeks.
Of course all the rain has a few of the holes unplayable at least for the next few days barring no more rain.

I rock columbia hikers,or wigwams if its colder. They have black and some other nice colors too.:)
Never really thought about paying $60 for socks! My shoes didn't cost that much.

Try getting white ankle socks in Innova's champion plastic- initially you'll catch yourself walking to the left, but as the break in, you should have a nice, stable gate. Good luck!

Cool, thanks for the update. I'm hoping to make it down that way later this summer and check out some courses in that area. I may PM you for suggestions. Thanks again!

Nice one. Seriously though, I guess I break the mold and wear my GREEN boot socks. They have some nice cushion and wicking properties, if they were only a little bit longer.

I laughed at that.:)

Nike makes some decent Dri-Fit socks for a good price, if you have an outlet mall anywhere near by check it out. For the price 12$ - 3 pairs, they dont disappoint.

I just wear soccer socks, especially on cold days because I never wear pants, ever. Like Randy and shirts from Trailerpark Boys.

like i said they are boot socks. i usually wear mine in the winter when im shoveling or felling trees in the summer. i have used them on occassion for DG when im in constant elevation changes and wooded areas.

i just wear my socks cause i wear $100 firefighting/tree climbing boots and the only thing my socks ever get to see on a dg course is my toes :D

If you are looking for wicking but not paying big bucks, I found what works for me. I ran across a place selling the Under Armour socks, they were black, and like $6 for 3 pair so I got them. But they were the thin polyester ones, and just were not enough cusion for me by themselves. So I used them under my black cotton socks, wearing both at the same time. The under armour wicked away moisture, and the cotton gave me the padding. The under armour also fits tight giving my ankles more support. just an alternative thought!
