Finally, something here I can contribute to! I love flicking my beat up Firebird for approaches; it's the oldest disc in my bag and it's just completely dialed in at this point. However I've been throwing a lot more understable stuff for flicks in the past year. One that's been really useful for...
Holy Beefcake Batman
Picked one up from the shop before my round today, 175g blue, purple stamp. I only had a couple holes to throw it off the tee, and I had the most success with it for touchy FHs. The one short backhand hyzer hole I threw it on came way short. I just wasn't prepared for how...
I'll try anything when it comes to improvement for my BH, so I'll try moving the pinky off to the side and trying the pinch with the index and thumb. I've modeled my FH after yours, maybe I can steal your BH techique too
Played a round at Alexander Park with a friend who's new to the game, but really starting to catch the bug. Found an un-inked ESP Meteor in the middle of the fairway with the price tag still on it, which seems like an awesome beginner disc for my buddy. Was shooting -2 at the turn, and then it...
I noticed some of the local "pros" threw the odd drive with the index finger above the flight plate, and the middle, ring and pinky in the rim. It seemed weird, but I tried it a few weeks ago and somehow it clicked. I have a tendency to unintentionally cock my wrist to a hyzer angle before...
I fell in love with a CFR Glow Sidewinder, loaned to me from a buddy. It started off kind of OS for my arm, but after I busted it off of a few trees it's turned into my ideal driver. BH or FH, I can throw it flat, get an inch of turn and a good fade.
Now of course this isn't how Sidewinders...
Who's throwing these? I'm trying the mold out again after throwing nothing but Discraft mids for the longest time. I got a green 177g one, super flat. Glides well, slightly less stable than a Champ Roc3, which works well for me because I don't really have a rocket arm. Thoughts?
I have an odd problem. Sometimes on long approaches, and less frequently off the pad, I'll chuck a disc about 60' right into the freaking turf. I'm not crazy good, but I feel like I'm too far along in my game to be doing crap like this, haha. I don't really know what causes it, does this happen...
I bag a heavy Lucid Trespass as my headwind distance driver. My beat TP Sword is my go-to off the tee. I think they're different enough to warrant bagging both. No experience with the Slaidi however.
It's my favorite driver when there's not a lot of wind, besides a tailwind anyway. It bombs in an open field, but it also powers down well considering how fast it is.
Because it's not cool to have more than five molds in your bag if you post on DGCR /s
In all seriousness, it's more of a feel thing for some people. They're comfortable with the feel of a specific disc, and they want one that feels the same but flies different.
250' is about as far as I can comfortably push my putters. I almost threw an ace this week with my KCPA on a 270' hole, but it was in totally ideal conditions (zero wind, slightly downhill)
