Running a basket fundraiser event. Ideas to raise money.

Running a fundraiser event later this month to raise money for our local club to purchase new baskets. Hoping for some more ideas to make it fun, inviting and for people to open their wallets. Currently I have it set as a $20 entry fee to play. I’m going to take discs from my collection and do...

New course in Amana Iowa, going to be completed in early 2024. I played a practice round.

    Let’s break the 450’ barrier.

Tried to keep my weight more central, really focused on pushing my right shoulder away, or maybe getting my shoulders more turned is a better way to describe it. I tried short steps and long (normal) steps, and it seemed like the longer steps provided more explosiveness.

    Let’s break the 450’ barrier.

I think I kind of fixed the hip issue you highlighted. Working on a smaller crossover step to keep my back foot more parallel also.

    Let’s break the 450’ barrier.

Curious, I’ve always kept my weight centered, or loaded on my back hip. Should I keep it loaded on my front hip?

Par 5’s are good for the game.

Regardless of how anyone scores, you’re not going to make the hole easier so people can “birdie” it. I feel in the original situation, it’s already a par 5 that was scoring 5.5 or so. You can’t make a par 6, so people wanted a more “scoreable” hole and turned it into a par 4.5.

    Let’s break the 450’ barrier.

Been working on the brace. Thought about adding a pump to get my shoulders more in-time with my last step. Can throw 400’ distance drivers consistently, 360-380’ with fairways, 330’ with mids, 300’ with putters.

Par 5’s are good for the game.

I feel like your course situation is different. 425’ is not a good distance for a hole unless it has another layer to challenge people. The original situation was making the hole easier because not enough people were able to “birdie 4” the hole. Getting a 4, 5, or 6 is dependent on skill level...

Par 5’s are good for the game.

It is very fairly designed. I was thinking last night, in the longer position, 3 is nearly impossible, but in the short position you could 3 it with two perfect throws 400’ shots. Adding to this, a lot of the long throwers didn’t birdie it, while some of the more average MPO distances got the...

Par 5’s are good for the game.

The sleeve is still in for the long. Hopefully for the A-Tier it gets placed there. I agree, in the shorter location, 3 is almost impossible, 4 is relatively easy and 5 should be almost a guarantee for mpo players.

Par 5’s are good for the game.

Why should it be the easiest hole to score on?

Par 5’s are good for the game.

The course has two tee-pads on each hole. MPO players from the longs generally score 60 on the long par 64 layout. MPO players from the short pads generally score 55 on the shorter par 64 layout.

Par 5’s are good for the game.

65 MPO players at the 2023 Titan Open. Round 1 had 14 Birdies, 61 Pars, 16 Bogies, 3 Dbl Bogies and one Triple Bogey.

Par 5’s are good for the game.

My home town has a newer Houck designed course. The only par 5 on the course averaged over par most of the year. The powers that be decided the hole was too hard and moved the basket 100’ closer down the hill. I think this was the worst decision. It’s a very well designed hole. In golf, you are...

The Inevitable 2024 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

He said in an interview at the end of the season that he feels great and is back to like 80% or better. He’s taking this surgery as more of an elective to repair it even further. He also said he changed the way he throws sidearms to prevent this from happening again.
