Review by texasemt13 in course East Metro Park

4.50 star(s) Metro East Quite possibly the best course around here. This course is professional grade. Be prepared for long, VERy accurate drives with only one, maybe two, options at a drive. This course was well suited for all types of players. Man, it was a tough one.

Review by texasemt13 in course Universal City Park - Old Layout

3.50 star(s) UC Park This course has a good mix of open holes and tree holes. I like the scenery as well, for being in the middle of UC. Watch out for offroad vehicles on 8-11, they don't seem to care enough to watch out for discs...

Review by texasemt13 in course Texas State Campus West Park

3.00 star(s) Windy Hills This course is literally 2 minutes from my house (walking). It's a very challenging course but you better be prepared to climb some hills. Good mix of long & short, wooded & open, hyzer & anhyzer shots. Almost every basket is on the side of the hill (almost forces you to lay up and...

Crescent Bend Nature Park - Cibolo, TX

So I've searched the "internets" over and can't find a relative street address for this place. Anyone have any more information about its location. How near or far from UC or LO? Next to RAFB?

Northeast Lakeview College - Live Oak, TX

Man it seems that N. San Antonio is trying to give Austin/RR a run for their Central Texas DG money. I like that within two miles, you can get to UC Park, LO and now this one. That makes 74 holes available within walking distance. That is one long damn day of DG.

Prince Solms Park- New Braunfels, TX

Has anyone played here yet (the new design)? I was so pissed when they put a fence in Solms. I used to live right up the road and played here daily (minus those pesky summer months when you couldn't even get close to the place without smelling a tourist) on the old course. I loved how they...

    Disc Selection ?.

For windy hills (that's what I call the campus course here too), I use a Champion Teebird. It seems to sit down well for me. Like the post above mentioned, get some heavier discs for the headwinds, and keep your arm level.

    Disc Selection ?.

For a BH (RHBH for that matter) I started out using the valkryie, beast and worked in to a wraith (I found the valk and wraith to have a perfectly straight glide for me). Now I typically use the groove and wraith. If you're trying to get in a BH putt I lean towards an Innova Birdie. I like its...

disc diving vs some kinda retriever

I like to let the inner laziness emerge, and I'll try to get it with my golden retriever first. However, it doesn't work if you can't get it under the lip, so I'm not opposed to a dip.

Review by texasemt13 in course Steeplechase Park DGC

4.50 star(s) Steeplechase... I just love this course. It really has a bunch of holes that require specific shots so you really have to develop your BH and FH, as well as anhyzer/hyzer. A good mix of a lot of trees and a lot of open fields. I love how this course sticks to the creek. Watch out for water...

Funniest/weirdest thing you've seen on the course

Some very typical, kinda funny things have happened to me and my freinds as well. One that I've tried not to repeat is hitting cars. I was teeing off Hole#2 On Texas State West Campus (San Marcos, TX), and next to the tee box is a county highway. I happened to fling my backhand in to the grill...

Review by texasemt13 in course McClain Park

3.50 star(s) McClain Park A beautiful course that takes advantage of the local landscape. You would never think that this course would be tucked away inside Loop 1604. It's such a nice retreat from the city which is just outside its boundaries. This course will definitely test your skill level, as many holes...

Review by texasemt13 in course Live Oak City Park - Old Layout

4.00 star(s) Live Oak Beautiful course that makes great use of the local landscape. It offers a wide variety of shot opportunities and is a great course for beginners and pros a like. The front nine takes advantage of the lake but the last 20+ holes are all water free. A better map would be nice and not all...

Review by texasemt13 in course Twin Parks Country Club - Park Hill

4.50 star(s) Twin Parks... This is a one of a kind course. Some awesome views from the tops of the hills (and it doesn't feel like a hike to get to the top because of the layout). There are many long holes, down the side of the hills, some not visible but they are constantly clearing out more trees. No signs...
