Not a pitch and putt 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 19, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course offers good lines that will challenge your shot making abilities on several holes. Also there is a small water threat on Hole 7.
This is a beginner friendly course that will challenge your abilities but not frustrate you at the same time.
Rounds should play quickly here.
There is a good mix of open, wooded, dog leg right holes, etc.
The tees were acceptable.
This would be a good place for an advanced player to work on their mid range/approach game.
Hole observations:
1-moderate length and open on the left hand side
2-moderate length and a straight shot
3-shorter hole that is heavily wooded-one of the best holes here IMO
4-moderate length and open/shares 1's basket
5-moderate length with a protected basket
6-moderate length and plays slightly uphill, dog legs to the right
7-longer hole that plays downhill a bit with the basket down by the draw
8-moderate length and has a group of cedars protecting the basket---another fun hole
9-moderate length with a tree in the middle to navigate around

Cons:

No signage just yellow painted hole numbers and par on the sidewalk/walking path.
No trash cans or benches this is always a welcome option.
Some players will complain about the Innova practice baskets but they did their job.
Holes 1 and 4 share the same basket. I don't know if this was by design(surely not) or if someone stole one of the baskets and this was the solution.
The walking path could come into play on some holes like 2, 3, & 8 so be aware.
The parking lot is close to holes 1 and 4 so don't plunk a car with an errant shot.
Also you could put a disc in the softball field on holes 5 and 7 so be on your toes.
Several fairways were spongy and the draw by 7's basket was super soft as well.

Other Thoughts:

This course was a nice surprise with the lines that it provided. You don't typically see a college campus course that has this kind of variety. Players will find something here to keep them interested. I enjoyed my round here and wasn't expecting the variety of shots that this course offered. If you are passing through the area and want to play a quick 9 then give this course a play. I think you will find something here that interests you.

Pros:

Different challenges. Some open field shots, wooded area ,also a water hazard. The tee spots are marked clear on pavement. Not a lot of people around.

Cons:

The bathrooms are not close . They are open all year. Much closer then Ben G course in fort smith.

Other Thoughts:

The course is being improved . Someone has been digging ditches to keep it from being swampy . Also tree trimming has been done.

Outback Park DGC 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Tee pads are recently painted and clearly marked. Trees trimmed and most underbrush cleared. Easy to locate discs after throw with grass mowed regularly.

Cons:

Walking path is broken up in places and sometimes resembles an episode of life after man. Sometime a ballgame is taking place and parking lot is full so first throw on tee #1 should consider parking lot OB and try to stay to the left as much as necessary. Can be muddy around the creek drainage areas.

Other Thoughts:

Alternate tees are in the works and should be done in the next couple months to extend the course making a reverse direction 9 holes to extend it to 18 holes.
