Short, Technical to the Point of Plinko, 9 Hole Course in the Woods 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 24, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Baskets are newer and in good shape.
- Clearly marked tee pads, though not great pads in of themselves.
- Beautiful forested setting in the Pemberton area.
- Good course for beginners.
- Free (and plenty of) parking adjacent to the course of the highway.

Cons:

- Very short course, with all holes easily a Par 3 but some labelled as Par 4.
- Tee pads are well marked, but they are uneven and small natural pads, which is okay because you don't need run-ups but still not ideal.
- "Technical" understates the fact that there just isn't a reasonable line to the basket on a few of these holes, the windows are only a few feet wide. I grew up on wooded courses and enjoy them, but a couple of the holes are sort of close your eyes and pray throws from the tee.

Other Thoughts:

- Not a cart friendly course (you won't really need anything more than mid-ranges if you're an Intermediate or above player). There isn't space to rip a real drive anywhere in the forest, this is not the course for you if you're looking for somewhere to open up and huck a few big ones.
- Not a good course for anyone (e.g. elderly) who don't like uneven/rough terrain.
- Overall an enjoyable huck in the woods, but it's so short and it's so plinko-ish it's not a course I would go out of my way to return to. I did enjoy both of the Whistler courses moreso than this one. I am appreciate of the fact that there is a course in the area, however, and to whoever took the time to put it in! Any disc golf is better than no disc golf, and it is at the very least clear which hole is which and how to play the course.
- I think this course is a 2.3 if I could give it that, I gave it a 2 as it's at a 2.5 right now. Doesn't mean it's a bad course by any stretch, but just means it's a bit of a niche 9 hole short technical course and if it's not what you're looking for I wouldn't go out of your way to visit this course.

A nice toss in the woods 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 15, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

- Beautiful Pacific Northwest forest setting
- Course map by first tee
- Sign with distance at every tee
- Baskets in good shape
- Nice variety of holes/shots
- Lots of ace and birdie opportunities
- Plenty of parking, short hike to first tee
- Natural tees

Cons:

- Very short, longest hole is 184'
- Natural tees

Other Thoughts:

A fun little course that plays slightly uphill along a small shaded stream in the woods. Worth playing if you're in the area. Very technical. #2 is a challenging tunnel shot through tall trees (see pic, you can barely see me at the tee in the distance). Short holes, played a few with just a putter. A couple holes have a dogleg where you can't see the basket from the tee. I listed the natural tees as both a pro and a con. They're pretty bad really, lined out with logs from the surrounding forest, with dips, roots and rocks to dance around. Tee #4 sits atop the remains of an old cedar stump with little space to maneuver. And yet, they fit in well with the setting and add an element of difficulty that makes the course more challenging and fun. Concrete would be way out of place here. Combine this with a hike to nearby Nairn Falls and a meal at Mile One Eating House in Pembroke (got a good tip from a local) for a fine outing.
