now why is there some people rated almost 1000 in the doubles championships? Seems a bit ridiculous to me because I recognize a couple of the names and they should be playing open if anything. Not trying to step on toes or anything but it seems a bit ridiculous to me to allow something like that.
Bobby Jones won major titles in the sport of golf and never turned pro.
No one should EVER be forced to play professionally.
So the flyer was incorrect for the tourney???? seems unlikely but whatever you say. I just think that this is a tourney for amateurs not pros. If you want to play the tournament thats fine its the td's call but I know pros rated under where some people in this amateur tourney are rated.
it is AMATURE dubs.

So just for future reference what about the 930? that Splits int. & advanced. If someone is 950 rated but doesn't want to move up to advanced can they bag int. for as long as they want? I didn't know these numbers were just thrown out there I thought it was the pdga preventing sandbagging, not claiming these are rules that's just what I had always been told.
992 rated ams totally help the sport grow. i may have 2-3 pdga rounds rated that high. to shoot 1000 rated rounds 1/3 of your rounds.....you should do yourself and other ams a favor and move up. the last tourney mark played as a am he beat the top pro spot by 10+ strokes...IMO 975 should be the cut-off for ams
We wouldnt be having this discussion if you had seen how I played Sunday at Bracketts doubles... lol.
No one should ever be forced to play professionally in any sport.
No they shouldn't. but I think Trohpy only for AMs will help this situation. (lower entry with nice Players pack) Baggers are winning big stacks of plastic or baskets then just selling them here or ebay.. No incentive to move up.
