This course plays alongside the Colorado River in a small park. The terrain varies from lush mowed grass to tree lined river to dry brushy upland areas.

Concrete tees are large with good texture, tee signs were simple but provided the necessary info, and baskets caught fine.

Hole lengths vary from from short (151') to modest (330'), and vegetation varied from wide-open to moderately wooded. There is little natural elevation on the course, but quite a few baskets were elevated on rock piles or other structures, and a couple of tees were elevated as well.

Holes 1 - 3 start by playing back and forth across a lush irrigated and mowed lawn. These were wide open and pretty basic, but not a bad way to get warmed up.

Hole 4 moves over into a rougher area of the park but is still pretty open.

Hole 5 features a hanging basket protected by riverside trees with a road on the right side of the fairway and the river to the left. It is tricky to get to the basket without ending up blocked by thick trees. Holes 7 - 10 play through the thickest trees on the course and present some good technical holes.

Hole 8 features a man-made triple mando. It is essentially a frame that you have to throw your drive through. Added some interest to an otherwise straightforward hole.

While several holes play alongside the river, I didn't have any trouble avoiding wet discs. Hole 13 drives from an elevated tee down to a basket set near the river, so a long drive would end up in the river for sure. But otherwise the river was far enough to the right of the fairway to be avoided. RHFH or LHBH players might find the river a bit more in play as their discs would be fading toward the river rather than away.

Holes 5 & 6 play close enough to busy Colorado River Road that I was hesitant to throw my "usual" RHBH hyzer as I couldn't tell when there were cars/pedestrians up there. The grass/brush was tall enough to obscure the road, though I could hear plenty of cars.

Holes 15 - 18 play through a dry brushy area and along the fence line of a mini-storage business. The holes are not particularly interesting, and the possibility of losing a drive over the fence is a concern.

While there are some decent holes along the river, the beginning and ending holes were open throws to an exposed basket.

This is a quick stop right off of the Interstate. While I wouldn't go rushing back to play the course again, I enjoyed stopping in.

There is good parking and a clean restroom near the first tee. You play past it again on Hole 10, and end up back there on Hole 18. A very convenient layout.

-Hole 5 has an awesome hanging basket on it and several of the other baskets are raised which is little bit different and adds a little extra challenge to the course
-Several of the holes had benches on them
-A pretty good variety of some open and some wooded holes
-Nice baskets
-Some of the holes have minor elevation changes
-The river comes into play on the side of a few holes
-The course is right off I-70 for a quick stop
-Good use of the land they had available

-Confusing on where the first tee-pad is, it is behind the parking lot and not right in front of the bathrooms, that is hole 3
-Some holes play quite close to a very busy road
-Most of the holes don't have tee-signs and many of the ones that had tee-signs, they were in random places like 10 feet in front of the tee-pad, so you have to walk up to it to look at it
-Not a very good variety of distance
-The tee-signs that are there appear to be wrong (the distance at least seems to be wrong on the signs)
-Not the most variety of shots required on this course
-Several of the fairways cross a little bit
-It is hard to navigate between holes 10 and 11
If your disc goes into the river, you won't be getting it back
-Some of the baskets blend into the scenery and they can be hard to see from the tee-pad (it wouldn't be bad if the holes had tee-signs to know where the pin position was)

This is a good course but none of the holes are very memorable. It is a good course to stop at if you are traveling through because it is right off I-70 and is a pretty enjoyable stop.

Good baskets and tee boxes. Hanging basket on hole 5 is a real good shot. There are some good shots along the river too.

Not alot of variety of shots. Seems like theres some old signs that arent correct for where the tee pads are now.

It's a good course but i'd rather play glennwood.

This is a fun course with its own unique character and variety in the feel of the holes. There are a few holes that play over well-groomed grass in open areas and others that play in high grass and through the trees. There are also holes that play right along the river.

Someone has put it some work on this course. The carpet placed on some tee pads and the interesting baskets are examples of this. (There is one hanging basket and one up on a pedestal of rocks, for instance.)

There are bathroom facilities and benches placed through the groomed-grass part of the park. Even a picnic bench near the parking area.

All the holes are very short. The longest may be a bit over 300 feet. Most advanced players will be expecting a chance at birdie when they size up the hole from every tee.

This course is exceptionally poorly marked. If it were not for a helpful guy who was leaving and saw me teeing off on the hole marked #1, I never would have found my way around it. There are 9 new holes mixed in at different points with the 9 old holes, but the tee signs still reflect the old course. So, the hole marked #1 is now #3, the hole marked #4 is now #8, I think... you get the idea.

There is constant traffic noise. It is an unusual experience to be right next to a major river and not be able to hear it for the noise of the trucks on the interstate.

There are a few wide open shots at the beginning and at the end of the course. In the middle, most drives involve danger from trees or the river. There is real danger of losing discs here, as I doubt many are ever recovered from the racing waters of the river. That adds an element of danger that contributes to the challenge of several of the holes, so I think it can be seen as a pro as well as a con.
I liked this course a lot. It is a fun little course, but it is very short and would need much-improved signage and tee pads to rise to the level of a 4 rating.

Beginner friendly, bathrooms, fishing on the colorado river. Dogs allowed. Recently added 9 new baskets to make the course 18 holes.

No shots over 320 feet. Vehicle conflict possible on island hole 18.

This course plays along the Colorado River, right off of I-70, 11 miles west of Glenwood Springs. You can stop and play a round in about an hour which makes it a great place to take a break if you are driving along I-70 through Colorado. Elevation is approximately 5,000 feet so winter time play may be sketchy.
The course is relatively short, the first couple of holes playing on mowed grass near the bathrooms, then playing through sage brush and scrub oak for the rest of the course. The front nine has the most foliage to deal with. There is a hanging basket about five holes into the course. After hole 11 it opens up quite a bit. Technical aspects are high at this course, not so much a long arm course. The wind in the afternoon will work you on the holes playing westward. With the new 18 hole course design, there are 5 or 6 holes that has the Colorado River come into play, and if you need wider fairways, then add a couple more holes to that number.
Accuracy is rewarded on this course, lots of short tight shots to make off the teepad, especially on the front nine. Beginner through advanced players will enjoy this course mostly. Families playing with whamos will enjoy this course too, if they don't throw into the river. Right now the fairways are a bit rough with knee high brush, but that will improve with time and usage. The course isn't long enough for the dirt teepads to be an issue for experienced players, it may be an issue for beginners though. Teesigns and some home made benches increase the rating for this course. It still has an unfinished feel to it though, but im sure that will go away as the course get furthur developed with better tee pads and more benches.
Overall this is a fun course and a majority of disc golfers will have an enjoyable time. Not recommended for big arm players, this course will make you execute your tee shots or you will find your self struggling to get out of the rough, or shooting from behind a row of trees. An average pro player will score from -6 to - double digits. Pretty much every hole is a birdie opportunity. An average advanced player will score under par. Beginner and intermediate players will score as good as they are playing that day, conditions notwithstanding. The birdies are out there on this course, you just have to go get them!
