Bathrooms in parking area, local disc golf retailer has mobile setup on weekends, lots of different terrain types, concrete tee pads, good signage, easy to find next tee, lots of challenges, league opportunities. Multiple basket placements.

River runs high in the spring, reduces safe zone on a few holes. Can be buggy at times. Single tee pads. UNMARKED MANDO ON #2. Throw between the trees. Do not throw out over the road. For LHBH, that leaves you fading away from the basket and onto the fairway on #1.

A few holes are a challenge for LHBH throwers like me. #4 doglegs left up a hill. Southpaws may want to try a FH here. #5 is a hanging basket on a steep hill. Try to park above the basket on the slope. #8 long basket is great for LHBH. #13 EATS DISCS. The wind usually pushes towards the river. RH throwers sometimes go too long and splash. LHBH aim for the tall dead tree to the left. Even if a good wind gust hits, it should keep you out of the water. 15-18 play along private property. If you go over the fences, just leave it. The owners are pretty good about holding discs for people to recover during business hours.

This is a nice, fairly challenging course along the Colorado River that offers a variety of holes from doglegs to tight wooded holes to open fairway shots. Elevation changes and lots of O.B. made things more enjoyable for me. The first few holes play openly in nice grass, then the holes become more wooded and play closer to the river. Hole #5 is a hanging basket suspended by trees. One hole appeared to be in the river, but as we approached it, we saw it was just close to it. There aren't many holes that would intimidate amateur players, making it a decent beginner course. Tee signs are a nice touch and help with navigation. There are bathrooms in the park area which is nice to have.

The pads are natural. The holes are a bit short, mostly under 300 ft.. I got confused on a hole because there was no sign or noticeable pad, so we had to ask a local and found a big log that was used for the tee area. The course gets pretty nasty after snow melting or rain showers.

This was the first course we played on a trip to the western slope and a great way to start the journey. Although I would say Riverbend Park in Palisade was a much nicer course for the area, Fire Mountain is definitely worth playing if passing through.

Plays along the Colorado River, tight shots, short shots, open shots and some elevation changes, this 9 hole course has a good variety of holes.
Thumber lovers will love this course.
Plays fast for a nice quick round.

Only 9 holes.
Most holes can be reached no problem with a mid-range or putter.
Very dusty due to the very fine sand from the river.
