Pros:
For a fairly mundane piece of land, the holes at North Park are diverse, dynamic and challenging. It offers a few "window" shots and a few longer (500+) air shots. Most holes are ceiling-type shots but the lines felt very distinct and different. I felt challenged on nearly every hole to hit the right line with the right disc on the right angle. I enjoyed the slight elevation change holes. Nearly all baskets are guarded. For a technical course, there is not much real "rough" but rather many obstacles instead. This pushes players for the birdie but cuts down on lost discs/time spent looking for a disc.
Cons:
Navigation: The flow of the course meanders in many different directions. No tees are too far from the previous hole but many holes are visible at once and it can be confusing to find the correct next hole without any signs.
Difficulty: From the pro tees, most holes are challenging on a pro level to birdie but very forgiving to save par. I think elite, top-tier courses have a little more length, a lot more risk and more true par4s (instead of par3.5s).
Other Thoughts:
I hate courses with boring holes or repetitive shots. Aside from hole18, the holes at North Park are anything but vanilla. It may not be the most picturesque course, but I think it has the best design of the 100+ courses I've played. My rating may seem high, but I find the navigational issue a small price to pay for fun, challenging holes with a lot of character.
