Nice when not busy. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 24, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

* Nicely manicured park with large mature trees.
* Concrete T-Pads.
* Beautiful setting.
* Nice RV camping in the park across the street from T-Pad #1. Tent camping I don't know about.

Cons:

* Very few protected baskets. Most were out in the open.
* Fairways were often very close to other fairways causing players to wait while the group in front of them finished, then wait some more while the group playing the fairway to the right got out of the way, then wait some more while the group playing the fairway to the left got out of the way. Then there was the wait for walkers, runners, and bicyclists occupying the paths that wandered through the disc golf course and across fairways.
* T-Pad signage was often inaccurate.
* Inadequate signage for navigation through the course by someone unfamiliar with the course.

Other Thoughts:

Played this course while driving through TX. All in all this is a very nice park with friendly people and that includes the non-disc golfers who often apologized for being in the way. Several other disc golfers helped us with navigation and other information about the area. In my opinion this course is a good place to practice straight drives of varying distances. I have no idea what limitations the park puts on disc golfers who want to make improvements. Many previous reviewers downgraded this course because it was only 9 holes. Now that it is 18, other problems were created as mentioned in the Cons section. I would play this course again if in the area. Although I might avoid it on a nice weekend due to possible congestion. Fix the signage and I would raise the rating to a 4. There probably isn't much else that can be done since it is in a multi-use public park.

Nice small town course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 21, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good map at hole one
Tee signs on all the holes (although one or two need to be updated)
Good cement tee pads.
Good use of land

Cons:

Very flat course
a few mando's on the course
Some of the fairways are a little too close to each other

Other Thoughts:

In all this is a good course, layed out in an old Pecan Grove with a few oaks thrown in, the course goes back and forth down the different lanes.

There is one little hill built for an old bridge, there is one basket on this hill and a tee box on the other side for an elevated tee shot.

Don't let the homemade baskets fool you, they actually catch pretty good. Only had one missed putt in the round.

Good mix of wide open shots between the trees and low ceiling shots under the trees.

I would play this course again

Truly a nice setup!! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 29, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nice layout and fairly well kept. Most holes wide open, but few with challenging basket placement. The trees will come more into play in the spring when the leaves arrive. Overall, a good 9-hole course.

Cons:

Only nine holes, but there seems to be talk to expand to 18. The course is placed in what is known as flood zone, so if it has rained steady for a few days, beware. After a good downpour, there will be some standing water, but the course is easily played. Take caution of the walkers around the course as there is a walking path close to the first five holes.

Other Thoughts:

Take note where you park within the park, as your vehicle could become a casualty of a stray disc.
