Pros:
Lots and lots of big Oak Trees! Makes for competitive play and good shade. Par is accurate for each hole - a lot of parks under rate or over rate their par (IMO). Park has on site employees that maintain the park on a daily basis!
Cons:
Not a good course to play after a good rain. Gets swampy and mosquitoes are unbearable (not an exaggeration).
Other Thoughts:
I spoke with the park attendant and he said that they ARE currently in the works of designing the layout for the next 9 holes.. YES, it will be an 18 hole course. He said they also plan on having tournaments in the future hosted by big local corporations such as 3M and Kohler.
I've played courses in (Tx) Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, Cedar Park, Brownwood, and Abilene. Brownwoods' Riverside park is by far one of the most well kept and entertaining parks I've played.
