Pros:
This is a beautiful course in setting and design. I found the layout to be very pleasing, with lots of ups and downs, and a good mix of open and more technical shots. With the lake and mountains the place is quite pretty! And today in March the grass hazard was not an issue.
Cons:
It is a tone-pole course, with fairly rough tee pads of carpet. If this course had concrete tee pads and proper baskets I could see it becoming a regional attraction, and I would rate it a 3.5 or 4. Navigation was an issue for me. I found holes 1 through 10 without too much trouble, but even after walking around for 25 minutes I never found hole 11, tee or pole, or the hole 12 tee. The rest came easily, as I had pretty much covered the property by then.
Other Thoughts:
Jackson County please give this course it's due! I bet it would pay for itself in user fees quite quickly.
