Reno Nevada's first pay to play course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 12, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

A big plus for us desert rats in northern Nevada, much of the course is played on grass...sweet, soft grass! If leaving your gaiters and hiking boots at home is not enough reason to play this course, consider that the course designers installed permanent Innova Discatcher Pro 28's,with 28 chains, these baskets simply catch discs! This course plays at just shy of 10,000 feet in length, coming in at a hefty par 67. Holes range in length from 324 ft to 900 ft, so a nice variety for all abilities. Many of the holes are between the golf course fairways with tight and low overhanging trees. Bomb your drive over the fairways or crank a low show between the trees. You may want to consider renting a cart, based on availability or walk the course for the ultimate experience. Another plus, The Shoe restaurant and bar, serving up great food and drink!

Cons:

Course is only available during select times due to the normally busy public golf course and they require reservations, although if not busy sure they would allow walk-ons. Also power carts may not always be available as they are offered first to golfers. And since we share the course with golfers, your first few times out may seem a little confusing...where should I drive my cart, should I wait for them to finish the hole before i throw....Is it ok to play thru since disc golfers tend to play much faster. Use common golf etiquette and show respect for all players.

Other Thoughts:

Washoe Disc Golf Course is a great addition to the burgeoning disc golf scene in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area. With the variety of holes get ready to use your entire arsenal of discs
