[Innova] Leopard Lust...!

Lost my 165g worn-in Pro-Leopard in the woods the other day :( Searched for 2 hours, but came up empty.

I am trying to replace it, but need some suggestions! I am a 350' max distance thrower, usually around the 275-300 mark and am looking for something that will go straight with a little turn with almost no fade.

Was thinking a 160g Pro-Leopard could fit the bill as new, but my local store doesn't have any in that weight. Thoughts on other plastics that you have noticed to be pretty understable but not flippy right out of the box?

I've got a worn-in 167 Pro Leopard if you want it.

So since I recently fell in love with the Leo again after acquiring a really nice Champ, how do the current Champ/Star Leos fly? Mine is very close to 6,5,-.5,1 and I really want a backup or 3, since I can't see Leos leaving my bag anytime soon, especially if I get a Pro for more US work.

I've never really dabbled with star leopards but i have always thought champ leopards...especially heavier ones...don't really turn much out of the box. Maybe it's because they typically have a fair amount of dome. Pro leopards are much more of what a leopard should be IMO. The few gstars I've thrown have been nice too.

I'm sure at some point you'll see them out there. I'd be interested in throwing some non max weight ones. In champion i like the L3 over the OG leopard, L3 seems to be more leopardlike if that makes sense.

Did they make a run of Luster Leopard3's that aren't a Drew Gibson sig?

I bag a champ Leo in my stable slot. My flippy slot is a seasoned champ Leo3. I've got backup champ Leos to rotate in as necessary.

I don't really consider Leos and 3's to be different in any quantifiable way.

Champ Leo3s seem to have a more Leopard like flight than a normal Champ for me. I've had some Champ Leos that were Teebird-lites.

I think so too. If in the store I'd just pick the one that has the PLH, plastic feel, and color I like. Currently I have a star Leo in the bag but it's light and a bit touchy if I get on it too much. Bombs in a tailwind though and cruises on 60-70% power tunnel shots.

^Edit: I've thrown champ Leo3's that were also -0.5/2 like an easy holding straight Teebird too, I think Leo or Leo3 can start out surprisingly straight-stable. Like at full power will just drift a bit right for me and still have enough finish to get a bit of a skip at the end.

This is pretty much my assessment too. Once some "new" gets knocked off the Leo I'd be hard pressed to say which is which based on a blind test flight.

I really like the "overstable" Leopards. They have a really long usable lifespan.

My favorites are a run of Champ Leopards from a couple years ago. They have nice firm plastic and little streaks radiating from the center, fly with excellent high speed stability and the classic Leo lazy fade. One can still find them around by looking through websites with individual pictures.

I really like Leopards. Currently I bag a firm Pro, a fairly fresh DX and a beat in DX. I toyed around with the idea of pairing them with a Glow Champ, Champ or a Star for the stable shot but right now I have a Rival in that slot.

I picked up a nice pink Champ Leo yesterday for old time's sake...I just love the Leopard mold and need an OG Leo in the bag...none of this "3" noise.

I've only thrown a few shots with a leopard 3 but bag two Leopards. Pro and a dx. Even when I tried out a lot of trilogy molds, the leo stayed. Tried working them out with Mavericks but just wasn't the same. Just picked up two GStar 170 to test out. For me they fly very similar to my pro with maybe a tick more finish. Most likely due to the fact my pro is starting to season in and hitting that sweet spot.

How much do those DX's weigh?

But why not both? The more the merrier I says.

I've been bagging a real beat G* Leo, and a Champ Leo3 since I discovered the Leo3 early last season.
They complement each other very well in my US/S fairway slots.

Finally played a course yesterday that had two Leopard holes. Man, I always forget how much I love this mold, especially in Pro! It's so easy to get 'er out to 350-380' with a relatively gentle throw. Gotta try one of those Leo3s at some point.
