What happened to the Derek Hastings videos?

Anybody know? In addition to "Chains," I was looking forward to the 2011 Pro Worlds and Vibram Open DVDs. I don't see an update on any of them, only "coming Winter 2011." I'm itching to watch something that's better produced than what I can find on youtube. I love the disc golf planet/disc golf monthly videos, but in non-HD it can at times be hard to follow the disc.

No news on the 2011 Worlds DVD. By second-hand sources, Derek's hard drive crashed hence the delay for the release of Worlds.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Worlds DVD as well.

Yes a crashed hard drive has led to a delay in both Chains and the Worlds from last year. Unsure as to release dates on both, but hopefully it wont be horribly long.

There is no money in it "Yet" I hope one day there will be. I am a video editor and cinematographer but there is no way I can spend the money on disc golf vids because I will never get it back. I do shoot some stuff for fun but rarely have time to edit it.

THis x10... anyone who is a video editor knows better than to only have one backup.

I think this is a BS excuse personally. He knows what he is doing and has been in the industry for years he should have had two back ups.

Something like chains can get delayed and it might be a little lame due to all of the unnecessary build up but something like worlds needs to be put out asap (before or at the following worlds seems ideal) or it loses relevance. You're not gonna sell nearly as many 2011 worlds dvd's if they debut in 2014.

PDGA may not produce a 2012 Worlds DVD unless they maybe try to assemble clips from discgolfplanet.tv coverage.

I see Derek every day, last night I saw what he had done of the 2011 Worlds. Its almost done. and when it is done, it will blow your mind.

try taking 20k and doing a 60k job. its not easy. he is working with dino computers, his RAID died like bitch, and he is broke living in a mutual friends house while his wife tries to claim the time he spends on Disc Golf and these movies makes him an unsuitable father and not let him see his kids.

CHILL OUT.

if you want something that can be sent to ESPN or Versus to really get our port going, be patient, if your a selfish jerk who isnt interested in anything other than your own personal enjoyment of watching the worlds, I have no sympathy.

QUIT MAKING THESE THREADS.

It will come when it is done and ready to take our sport into the future.
