Favorite Hole

hole 6 at stafford lake in california. the basket is on the saddle of the hill, left of center. its just really satisfying to watch discs fly off this hole, and the scenery is awesome too. it can be a bitch to hike up there on hot days though.

Top of the World (#27) at De La Veaga in Santa Cruz, CA, no question.

Why?

1) You've just gone through 26 holes of absolutely world-class disc golf, and likely gotten your @ss kicked but good in the process.

2) You throw off a cliff. The pin is 580 feet out, 300 feet down, and it's been aced. Oh and yeah, there's no hyzer route (unless you're a complete gorilla).

3) While you're contemplating your throw, you can look around and see the entire Monterey Bay spread out in front of you.

This is a nice hole... but, to be honest... it's more of a very steep hill than a cliff... and, it's more like 70' of elevation as opposed to 300'. But, it is a beatiful view and a beautiful shot... However, not in my top 5.

This is the BEST top of the world shot I have ever played! Especially from the top tee-pad. Over 100' of elevation loss and over 600' away... Threw my Star Aviar 30' off the pin.

(after finishing hole 5 and your walking to 6, look for the smaller trail on the right - apprx. 50-100' after the pin -and begin climbing. You'll eventually get to the tee-pad). Awesome. Oh Yeah! And throw your putter.

Old #2, new #15 at Mt. Airy. Despite really having issues with this course, I love this hole. There are certainly more challenging holes out there, this one just gets my vote. The basket is about 150' following the dogleg right.

This is #4 at Bear Branch, in The Woodlands, TX. Not a long hole, but challenging. For somre reason, I have always liked it.

i like this T.O.W. a little more than 14 at whistler's bend... more elevation at whistlers, but you can't beat this basket position. i parked a roc (second drive- didn't count) 40 feet out.

my friend seriously threw his XS all the way to the benches under the tree at the tee for 8. 8-900 off the tee, but a good 45 degrees off... good thing nobody was sitting in there. it was still airborn (and hauling ass) when it went right into the "doorway"

This is a cool top of the world type shot at Brian Head in Utah. The pin is out past the end of the avalanche fence, and down to the right is a deep ravine filled with pine trees that's a real pain to get out of, while off to the right or long past the pin is a ski hill that invites roll-aways. Awesome view, and tons of fun to throw.

And a legit answer:

Hole 10 at Sequoyah Park in Canton GA:

It is 293ft short and 328ft long. What you cannot tell from the pic is the enormity of the valley you shoot over...it is a good 25'-30' down and then back up. A really neat hole.

It almost looks like there is a person in the tree above and to the right of the hole . . . a little orange person.

hole 9 at Kaposia Park in St. Paul MN

I have just always loved looking down this path and thinking, this is perfect for a RHFH subtle s-curve. Then, just a little while ago, I hit the chains off the drive, but it didn't sit.
The pins about 385 away and at the top of the pic a little to the right.

My most magical hole was hole 3 at Dexter in Oregon. It was lightly raining and there was a low mist hanging over everything. We shot one and two which were open and we got to 3 and it was straight down hill through a tunnel of trees with a light rain and basically a small cloud hovering between the tee and basket. That was one of the most special holes as I parked my drive at the base of the basket

Hole #3 @ William Cameron Park. Only 159 feet but I still love it!!!

Short downhill holes like that are a lot of fun to throw. A nice easy shot with a putter, and watch it just float down to the basket.

There is no better finishing hole than is the epicness that is No. 18 at Circle C. This hole is why the game is never over at Circle C till the final putter hits the chains at 18. Four shot leads can evaporate with an errant initial drive off the tee. This hole is unforgiving and is just so incredibly difficult unless you have just a perfect drive off the tee. Just epic.

Skurf, you must be a masochist if that's your favorite hole.
