So, I have a lot of thoughts after testing my opto Stilettos.
I realized the reason why some people are finding the Stiletto to have the same HSS as the xXx is because they aren't throwing it hard/fast/windy/oat-y enough. If you throw them both 300' it will seem like they have the same amount of HSS.
However, I was throwing the Stiletto at 70' anhyzer fh angles and it would fight out of it, I got some of the most beautiful flex shots I have ever seen. I was intentionally throwing this thing with tons of OAT and almost like a FH roller and it was turning it into flex shots. I tried to throw a huge anny fh and it fought out before it even got half way and ended up dumping 75' in the wrong direction.
This thing is stupid overstable, which is what I was hoping for. Also, I was having problems getting it to skip sometimes because it goes too straight down. It would end up vertical and not be able to skip. So when thrown on flat lines I can't imagine what this thing does.
Long story short, I approve. Most OS disc I have thrown to date. Very very useful IMO. I second ZJ's findings, much more HSS than a xXx and more fade. They just aren't even in the same category.
How about the thumber?
Turns much faster than my TP giant. Its so OS I've been having problems judging where to throw it. You pretty much have to thumb it straight left to get it to finish even moderately straight.
Due to extremely slow turn i imagine?
I amazed you can even keep your fingers on the rim while throwing overhead shots haha. The Stiletto is so damn wide, thats probably why it gave me fits
I tested a 174 Opto today, and holy S**t this thing is wicked overstable. It would probably take a 50mph+ headwind to flip this thing. I laughed the first time I threw it, no joke.
My buddy says his is less overstable than his nukeos, anyone else do a side by side comparison yet?
Well as with any discs especially when comparing 2 manufacturers, there are variances in runs.
The first run Nuke OS was crazy overstable, and newer runs have become a bit less overstable. I can imagine the same is true with the Stiletto, there will be some that are straighter and some that are just pure beef.
The reality these discs are in the same category as 2 of the only pure overstable speed 13's you can buy. The Ape is no where close to these discs
