The inevitable re-attempt at a 2020 Pros Switching Sponsors Thread

Weird thing going around facebook that Innova posted and quickly took down a Paige Pierce video this morning...

Man...I just pulled Innova out of my a**...looks like I might be close :D

Okay, enough of this thread drift...can we get back to pizza and BBQ?

I wonder if Paige made any attempt to renegotiate the remaining year(s) of her contract with DD, or if she simply gave notice and jumped ship. It's a moot point now, of course. Just a matter of curiosity for me.

Ultimately I think PP leaving Dynamic makes sense. Paige is constantly winning elite level events, or at least in close contention. That's not exactly on-brand for DD.

Looks like Paige is going to Innova. Video posted on youtube and quickly taken down. Or a pretty good photoshop. lol... The top video is obviously her.

I wonder about the details of Paige's DD contract. Is it possible she had a player option built into it, and she simply decided to opt out? Conversely, did someone buy her out of her contract, or did DD perhaps choose to let her go, with no compensation? I'm sure it was not lost on them the way Paige's final season with Prodigy went when she had decided she wanted to move on.
Anyway, I'm excited for this move, because I think it signals someone (Discraft? Innova? Discmania?) is interested in really investing in women's disco golf, which is awesome.

That picture is clearly her. And this video could clearly be about her. BUT, that also looks like a thumbnail that YouTube snagged at random. It does not fit in with their other thumbnails at all. That video could also be about Henna who hasn't said where she is going yet.

I am sure we will know more soon.

Note that Innova helped create the women's Throw Pink org and is a big supporter of the bi-annual Women's Global event plus Paige won the Performance version of the USDGC one year.

I would make the argument that DD invested in promoting FPO disc golf. Obviously you can always put more into anything, and maybe her new sponsor will. But Paige was the face of that company and they did a pretty good job at promoting her.

I always hope that someone puts in more effort to promoting disc golf, MPO & FPO. But, I have multiple PP signature series discs from DD.

Totally agree with you. I guess what I was getting at is that if a company elected to buy out her DD contract, or at least significantly compensate DD in some way, it would mean they are prepared to heavily invest in Paige and women's disc golf. I don't see any reason she shouldn't be up there with McBeth in the discussion of who moves the needle (and discs), with no one else even being all that close.

I agree, super awesome. I will gladly support any company that promotes women's disco golf!

Hah!

McBeth leaves Innova (gasp!) and kills it with Discraft. Paige leaves DD (gasp!) and inevitably will kill it with whomever.

Pros: "It doesn't matter what brand I throw, I'm just good."
Ams: "I guess brand doesn't matter, I should just throw whatever."
Manufacturers: "Ams figured out brand doesn't matter, why are we paying these Pros?"

I understand your point from a sheer bottom line perspective. However, ignoring women can lead to bad PR....Really, the first thing I thought after looking that Elite team tracker page was there was no woman on the team.

2019 Worlds

Final Round
Front 9 FPO: 35,437
Back 9 FPO: 30,674

Back 9 MPO: 1,838,815

Don't know why people debate metrics... They "need" players that will get views and follows.
Growing the women's side is a nice side project, but the priority should be clear based on the numbers

in real life maybe we could tell you were being sarcastic but this is the internet. you made a dumb joke in a dumb way and got called out on it.

Oh...I've been schooled. I award your 2 million internet points for your virtual pile on.

This ins't about metrics, it is about appearance. Appearing to value your female customer less than your male one can cause some men to look upon your company dis-favorably.

Which video has 1,838,815? The Jomez video I see only has 592,624.
