2013 Goals

- Really nail down some driving mechanics for consistency's sake. Maybe push some drives out past 420ft. on a golf line but really focusing on the first part of that.
- Putt, Putt, and Putt some more. Then keep Putting until forget there is a driving aspect to this game.
- Get at least two other people really invested and interested in the sport. I just like seeing people enjoy the game as much as I do.
- Graduate
- Finally tie the knot.
- Lastly, pick some discs and stick with them!

my goals are too simple and broad but...
increase my average max d drives from 325-350 to 400+
increase accuracy and precision, especially on up shots and 200ft low tunnel drives
improve forehand (hopefully add an x step), rollers, trick shots, and overheads
improve putting, especially at 25-40ft
and many more hehe

This will be my first full year in Open. Couple of small goals:

1. Learn as much as I can from the "pros" I'll be throwing against.
2. Cash in Open in 5+ events. Cashed in the 2 I played in 2012.
3. Full tournament of 1000+ rated rounds.
4. Get enough rounds to knock out my terrible 800 rate rounds from my first year of playing, 2011. This is KILLING my rating.
5. Beat my highest rated round of 1028.
6. More putting confidence (this every year).
7. Keep the molds in my bag the same all year, this is nearly impossible for me.

Putt a ridiculous amount until I am 100% inside 20' and atleast 75%+ inside the circle. That is really all I care about. My rating would jump 80 points or so just from that.

1. Break the 500ft mark.
2. Get approach shots down to within 20ft of the pin.
3. Be able to hit 20ft putts.
4. Work on sidearm approaches and get my sidearm drives back up to 300+ft.
5. Participate in more tournaments
6. Play out of state courses.

1. Play in more tournaments. This will be easy since I just played my first two in 2012. I'll already have that covered by February.

2. Consistently hit fairways drivers to 300'.

3. Develop a forehand drive.

4. Take at least one road trip to a new course. I've played 17 courses but all within a 28 mile radius.

My goals for this year are:

Putting (I want to be more consistant inside the circle)
Driving (Consistant drives between 300-325)
Join PDGA (Recently accomplished this)
Play in my first PDGA sanctioned tournament (Playing in a C-Tier in Euclid tomorrow)
Play in at least 10 sanctioned tournaments
Have above an 850 rating in my first year

This will be my first year playing nothing but MA1 so I would like to:

>PUTT PUTT PUTT and more PUTTING
>Get more consistent with my upshots
>More accuracy on my drives
>Win a local MA1 event
>Win AM World Dubs(actually just cashing would be fine)
>Play AM Worlds
>Try not to give up the win at the DD Finale again(won rec in 2011, gave up the win on the back 9 in INT in 2012)

1. Switch from modified powergrip to four finger powergrip. Teebirds to 350+ (currently 320). Disc up to Wraiths if that happens, probably drop Saints. Work on a straight pull again as soon as I can ditch some clothing layers.
2. Continue working on putting - got a basked for XMAS, that should help. :D Get solid inside the circle as well as using jump putts for upshots/runs at the basket. Should be safe to do if I'm solid ~20' for the bring-back.
3. Rating over 900 - currently ~880 - Play only MA2 or higher, accept that everyone will be 'baggin in the spring for State berths. I'll have an edge from playing all winter. Cash consistently in MA2 (cashed 4th last weekend, so that's going good so far).
4. Get more involved in my club, play more weekend doubles.
5. Buy less plastic, be happy with the discs I know well and have a lot of already.
6. Work more on energy conservation/maintaining focus for 2nd round of tournaments.

That's probably enough.

I took a bit of Christmas money and bought a little handheld camcorder.
Very impressive; takes 60fps at 720p.
I filmed a round of play and found out two things.
1. The camcorder is a wonder of clarity and simplicity.
2. My throwing form SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, gotta work on the throwing form.
That's my goal for 2013. After 5 years of playing, this will not be an easy task, but it MUST happen.

On a happier note, my putting form is actually pretty good.

Meet and become friends with many disc golfers!

Get my Drive to over 500'

Drive my putter (anode) 240-275'

Play in some more minis and PDGA events in TX

Learn more about rollers, Thumbers, and tomahawks.

Play on many more courses this year.

Start a blog going to reflect my thoughts, and journy about disc golfing.

Join the local disc golf club where I live.

I would love to have a disc golf day for underprivalidged kids here locally, where we take them out for a day at the local disc golf course and have lunch provided. Teach them about having fun outside, honesty and integrity, and of course show them disc golf is a great hobby/sport.

Play in some doubles tournaments

And ALWAYS have fun!!!

Lose 60lbs
Play in at least 6 tournaments
Increase driving distance to up to 400'
Improve form
Get better at putting outside the circle
Keep working with forehand drives
Stop getting so much new plastic.. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Yep, anyone that comes up to me asking for help on form the first thing I ask is "have you actually seen yourself throw?" Most people say no. It's a real eye opener. You think you're doing what you're supposed to and usually you are not even close.

Get my rating up to 880-900. Currently 816 :(

I played my first tournament of the year and had two 880~ rounds, so things are looking up.

1. Break par at my home course
2. Get a basket for the basement/backyard
3. Roadtrip to Charlotte
4. Roadtrip to Buffalo (easy goal, its an hour away, yet I never got out there last year)
5. Roadtrip to Toronto Island
6. Play in a sanctioned tournament
7. Improve
8. Help maintain the local courses as much as possible

My 2013 goals:

Improve putting now that i got an innova skillshot for Christmas.

Maybe join the PDGA.
Keep taking pictures.
Spend less time in the Landfill-sorry Discpicable
1. work in progress
2. Done
3. Work in progress- needs more work
4. Will wait 'til spring
5. Done- played in 2 c-tiers already (no rating yet)
6. Spring
7. impossible- i have too much fun in there!:)

-Join the local club for every tournament or trip I take. -
- stabilize/increase my rating through more consistency in tournament play.
- Become a strong putter within the circle. (Currently a good Open player off the tee and mediocre am in the circle)
- Keep having more fun than my competitors.
- Play courses everywhere I travel hopefully.
- See a doctor about my elbow (prohibiting forehands) and learn to play lefty this year for the challenge and utility if the elbow doesn't recover.

Joined a couple clubs, plenty to go.
Just had a 995 tournament should help.
Nope, still an ugly tournament putter.
Definitely winning the fun competition.
Not a lot of travel.
The elbow is better as of a couple weeks ago, no doctor needed.

New Goal-
Cash in every sanctioned event. (One for one, with 2 of 3 unsanctioned wins this year)
