So is lake park open now that it's after feb 1 or is it closed indefinitely?

Word is it got pushed to Feb 26th.

Trophy Club park is now open! Hole 11 is still under water. Holes 5 and 6 may have a little water as well but this should drain soon. The lake has receeded 4 feet since the start of the year. Tee signs should be installed in the very near future as well.

Just got an email from Lewisville's Parks guy reference an ETA on getting the course back open:

There is not at this time. The lake levels have caused us to revise our construction schedules and at this time do not know when the course will be opened again. When the construction in the area of the course has been completed we will have to redirect some of the holes in order to accommodate the trail.

My best suggestion will be to periodically check with our office (972 219-3550).​

I played the little nine hole course in Lawnview Park. The baskets looked new, but they appear to be the same as the baskets at BB Owen. The course isn't on this site, but it's not a "destination" course. Not bad at all for practice.

This is not a scenic park. It's a bit of a swamp in the White Rock Creek flood plain. Being in the valley, I don't think you can see Fair Park or downtown from the park. It's right across the street from the Lawnview DART rail station.

This course and the views are nowhere close to what you'll find at Founder's Park. I wouldn't get any type of hopes up for a disc golf "experience" beyond getting in some practice on a mostly open course with home made baskets (same type you'll find a BB Owen).

if those baskets are homemade, they are the best homemade baskets i've ever seen. they look like some kind of Mach baskets or something, i can never distinguish which ones are which.

the course is not bad. decent layout, makes use of the trees and the creek. that said, i'm assuming the creek is not usually there; it looks pretty seasonal, a result of our really wet year we've had.

BB Owen has DGA baskets, if I'm not mistaken. If they're not DGA, they're a very close clone, manufactured basket.

I was told that bb Owens baskets were relocated from skyline, and were donated by whammo in the really good old days. But idk for sure.

That's what I heard from my older brother too, who went to Lake Highlands in the late 80s.

I didn't say they weren't well made. I don't think you can buy those from anyone. I think someone in the City of Dallas parks department knows how to make baskets.

They definitely make you hit the pole dead center, and even then not too hard. I once saw PP's car in the lot and figured she was there to work on her putting.

i was passing through lewisville texas today and thought i would stop in at lake park ,,, broke out the camera and took a few pics ,,, well i took pics of the front 9 holes and the conditions and decided to share a few . the first pic is obviously hole 1 ,,, the second pic is ones pin but any of us that know the course can see that there is no lake level issues ,,, the third pic i thought was interesting , it being hole 9 ,, wow what a wait if the park is busy ,, im guessing they should move this tee at least ,,,,,
