Another update..

The cart sat in the basement untouched for a while (as I debated making a new/better one or just getting a delta...). But I took it out to a course last weekend and it worked well. So I prepped it for a tourney this weekend.

Added a handle (PVC screwed into the top and wrapped in tape; it's pretty secure), the putter pouch (holds 4), the cup holder (taken off of an old bike and stretched out to fit the powerade bottle. Powerade is my drink of choice for tourneys, so that was important), and added an umbrella holder (supposed to get rain on Saturday, so it was necessary, albeit the add-on is pretty temporary, for now).

Haven't gotten around to painting it yet, but it's not my biggest priority, as I'd like to confirm it functions before investing too much more time.

Still might choose to make a better one or just save for a delta...

Cheers!

Homemade cart

Wheels and bottom frame from a Baby Jogger, handle from a golf pull cart, and the "box" is made with wood with a faux leather covering. Balances and rolls very well. Still need to add cup holder, towel ring and a couple of disc dividers and maybe a putter pouch. Deep storage section will hold a small bag cooler in addition to umbrella towels, etc.

This pic was posted by a guy on our local Facebook page. Pretty sweet set-up. The skis are a nice touch although we only see snow around here a few times a winter. Yes, it's a mailbox.

Love the idea of the crutch as the neck. The biggest drawback of both carts I have owned is the comfortability when I am actually sitting. Not that I would want it to support a lot of weight, but having some back support greatly reduces fatigue as it actually feels like I am relaxing. The skinny pole barely cuts it, but with the umbrella and phone clamp having to face a certain way, I definitely cannot lean too heavily into it without being jabbed in the back or neck. A wider back rest would feel great.

Found a Zuca sport at a thrift store for $10. Got the crutch at goodwill for $1.25 and the wheels from a small bike for $6. The D handle is from a dolar store shovel $2.50. The crutch makes a awesome handle (adjustable) strong as heck. The wheels are foam. Used Threaded rod for the axle

$20 DIY thrift store Zuca upgrade/refurb? I'm not a cart puller myself, but... bravo, sir. Bravo!
