Dye penetrating Vinyl?

I just did a dye using Oracle 751c vinyl. everywhere the vinyl was touching the disc, as well as was dipped in black dye got darker, but the places where there were bubbles in the vinyl stayed the original color. Did my dye soak through the vinyl? did I leave it in too long? (I did leave it in for a long time) was it too hot?

Ya too hot. Heat the dye up till it begins to steam, turn off the burner then dip your disc

Same thing happened to me because I thought it needed to be hotter or leave in longer but I needed a more concentrated dye instead. This happened with Contact paper.
