Knob Hill is really good but gets over looked since Moraine and now North Boundary are so close by. Deer Lakes is favorite in that region.

Do you have an idea of what days you're gonna be around where?
I might be able to get out there for Burchfield
Days 1-6: Maryland to Chippewa Falls
Central Assembly of God (3.33) 9
Knobley Mountain (2.17) 9
No Boundary – Learn to Play (3.38) 6
No Boundary – Main (4.20) 18
MUST PLAY.
Mastodon DGC (4.25) 18 = New state! (Indiana)
Lucerne Park (2.75) 9
The Canyons (4.49) 27 = New state! (Illinois)
Fabulous course. Me, Ted and Eric actually played it TWICE during a bagging trip. There are a couple other underrated spots in the Joliet area as well.
Adler Park (3.22) 9
I liked this place a lot for a 9er. Was quite nice early in the morning.
Fairfield Park (4.58) 18
I love Fairfield. That is all.
Lincoln Park (3.19) 18
Agree with the masses. Very typical park course. Johnson Park is superior.
Fox River – Red Fox (2.82) 9
Fox River – Grey Fox (4.05) 18
Silver Fox (4.24) 18
Silver doesn't get the love it deserves. Rating is lower because it was originallly a 9 holer. Grey and Silver are super fun. If you get there early, play Red/Grey first, then head over to Silver.
Wilderness (4.60) 18
Haven't played it in ages (since they tore out a bunch of stuff)...I could probably be convinced to make the run...
McDill Pond (2.62) 9
Yulga Park (3.89) 18
Bummer about the pooch, because both Big Eau Plaine and Standing Rocks are far superior to Yulga. Yulga is the most strangely flat course I've ever played.
Days 7-8: Wedding and family activities around Chippewa Falls. Groom is a disc golfer but may be otherwise occupied.
Buckrub DGC (nr) 9
I tried to stop in there last summer, and the road was under construction and I ended up skipping it because it wasn't clearly marked.
Mount Simon Park (3.23) 9
Just ok. Like Lincoln Park, just your typical park course.
Tower Ridge I (4.07) 18
Tower Ridge II (3.39) 18
Plan on a decent amount of time here. They're not brutal courses, but they're mostly heavily wooded.
Days 9-10: Highbridge Hills and across the Michigan UP. From this point on the schedule gets tight, unless I can figure out how to retire before this trip. Retirement is tempting. Very tempting.
Highbridge – Woodland Greens (3.69) 18
Highbridge – Blueberry Hill (4.69) 18
Highbridge – Granite Ridge (4.57) 18
Highbridge – Gold (4.55) 18 and/or The Bear (3.82) 18
Powder Mill (4.18) 18 = New state! (Michigan)
Highbride, YES. Also, saw Keyes Peak mentioned, and it's an underrated gem up there. Fantastic view from the top of the hill.
Days 11-13: Michigan, visit cousin, and drive back to Maryland
Burchfield – River's Edge (3.88) 18
Burchfield – Devil's Den (4.40) 18
Vienna Park (3.60) 18 (or other Toledo course)
Two Mile Run Extension (3.61) 9
Linbrook (3.56) 9
Feel free to ask more questions...you know where to find me.
Yes, but unfortunately I don't have the schedule in front of me. From memory (may be faulty):
Wed 7/28: Wilderness, Yulga, maybe McDill Pond
Thu 7/29 and Fri 7/30: should be in Chippewa Falls, hope to play some of the local courses
Sat 7/31: Wedding, probably no disc golf
Sun 8/1 and Mon 8/2: Highbridge Hills
I'll check the schedule this evening and let you know. If I remembered wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
I'll be around those days you're in Chippewa!
Unfortunately, there's no course in Chippewa anymore, but Eau Claire has a bunch (as you know). There is a semi-decent longer school course in Cadott that's actually one of my favorite 9ers, and that's probably the closet course to your wedding venue.
Tower gives you the options to play the two course separate or to play a 27 hole loop that plays with both courses. Might be the way to go if your on shorter time (or energy). Tower 2 is definitely flatter and less of a trek than Tower 1.
Still a little flabbergasted that you are attending a wedding at a venue in my backyard, at a venue the helped give me my name lol
Excellent!
Yeah I'm still not sure where the wedding will be. Still need-to-know, apparently. Maybe a park north of town? But we should be staying near Lake Wissota.
Haha. Well I did marry a Cheesehead.
Wed 7/28: Wilderness, Yulga, maybe McDill Pond
Thu 7/29 and Fri 7/30: should be in Chippewa Falls, hope to play some of the local courses
Sat 7/31: Wedding, probably no disc golf
Sun 8/1 and Mon 8/2: Highbridge Hills
I'd be able to play Yulga and McDill on the 28th.
Possibly Highbridge too. No guarantee on that one, but the 28th for sure.
Depending upon your route, either Portage Lakes or Friends of Punderson are the best options.
If Portage Lakes and near a meal time, Parassons (Barberton or Akron locations, depending upon your route preferences) for cheap Italian.
And, Boundary in Cranberry will wipe you out - the ~2 hour break from there to Akron will be much needed!
I'll be around those days you're in Chippewa!
I'd be able to play Yulga and McDill on the 28th.
Whoops, I was off by a day. Sorry about that, I hope I didn't mess up anyone's plans.

Nice! I think Bogey was also going to try for Burchfield. Looks like Tue 8/3 is the most likely date, but that part of the schedule is still subject to change.
A weekday would be a really nice time to get out there, you'd have the whole place mostly to yourself, Burchfield is in a pretty small rural town and enough of a drive from the nearest city (Lansing) that most of the locals there stay local to that area. Because it is such a great pair of courses they do get a decent amount of traffic on the weekends though from people all over the area.
The area does get a little buggy though, I've seen the skeets there get bad enough to carry you off the course. Fingers crossed it's not super rainy during that time.
The Devil's Den course has two tee pad placements and two pins. The shorts/shorts plays pretty darn short, like everything under 300ft short.
Some of the long tee pins are REALLY long, so I'd say for an intermediate player to try the long pads to short pins for a good challenge, and if you're a bomber and Am1 rated, or just coming out here for the day perhaps go ahead and play longs/longs for the experience but do be mindful that the grass out here in the fields does get long, especially by August, and disc searches can become a problem.
Not at all likely I'll be able to join you.Nice! I think Bogey was also going to try for Burchfield. Looks like Tue 8/3 is the most likely date, but that part of the schedule is still subject to change.
